Virtues of the Amaamah - Blessed Sunnah of Sayyidul Ambiya Rasulullah (sal)

Assalamu Alaikum WW

We see many Hadith where our beloved Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) has told us to wear the Amaamah at least on and off. Can we have a list of virtues listed here and what the Mashaikh say about it? In the following order if possible?

1) Do you wear one? (sisters can mention their Mahrams)
2) What made you wear one (someones bayan/ reading about it?)
3) Virtues of the Amaamah mentioned in Ahadith
4) Virtues of the Amaamah mentioned by the Mashaikh
5) Are there conditions to wear the Amaamah? (age/ knowledge levels)
6) Color of Amaamah (significance of color?)

May Allah Ta'ala give us the Taufiq to follow His beloved!

[Salafi-Muslim]

Alhamdulillaah sometimes I wear black amamah, but mostly I wear a skullcap/kufi. Both are Sunnah and the crown of a believer.

That is so pleasing to hear you brother Salafi-Muslim saying that it is the crown of the believer because the salafis that I associate with, unfortunately, consider it as only culture and therefore no reward in it. I am amazed at what their teachers teach them regarding what is Sunnah. May Allah protect us. Ameen.

These ahaadith are taken from Shamaa'il Kubraa, by Mufti Muhammad Irshad Ahmad Qasimi.

Sayyiduna Ubaadah bin Samit narrates that Nabi said: "Wear a turban, as it is a special feature of the angels and let the tail be suspended at the back."

A Turban enhances forbearance


Sayyiduna Abdulla ibn Abbas narrates that Nabi said: "Wear a turban, as it increases forbearance."

Black
Jaabir ibn Abdullah [radhiallaahu anhu] narrates that Nabi [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] entered on the day of Fath-Makkah whilst wearing a black Turban. (Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasaaie, ibn Majah)

Yellow
Ibn Umar [radhiallaahu anhu] narrates that Nabi [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] used to dye all his clothes with yellow, even his turban. (Sunan Abi Dawud)

Red
Anas ibn Maalik [radhiallaahu anhu] narrates seeing Nabi [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] making Wudhu whilst wearing a Turban that had red colour on it. (Sunan Abi Dawud; Mustadrak al-Haakim)

White
Ibn Umar [radhiallaahu anhu] narrates Nabi [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] tied a white turban for Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Awf [radhiallaahu anhu]. (Mustadrak al-Haakim)

Green
Nabi [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] never wore a green turban. (Sha-aabeeba al-Ghamaama fiy Tahqeeq Mas-alah al-Imaamah pg.59; Basaair)
However, some Sahaaba [radhiallaahu anhum] have worn the green turban. (Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah).

There is no reliable narration mentioning a specific length for the turban. The sunnah of turban will be fulfilled with a cloth of any length.

A turban may be worn with a Shimla (tail) or without a Shimla.
