    Default Sneezing In Prayer

    Assalamualaikkum

After one sneezes he should say Alhamdulillah. What about when one is in salaah and is reciting loud or quietly. Should they stop to say Alhamdulillah or carry on reciting. Also what about when one sneezes in the toilet.

It's recommended not to say "Alhamdulillah" upon sneezing [in salah] although it doesn't nullify your salah, if said. In addition, if in reply to you, it was said "yarhamukullah" the person replying would cause their salah to be nullified. Er, I think.

    As Salaamu Alaykum,

If a person sneezes in Salaah, and after sneezing says Alhumdulillah, then his Salaah will not break, but it is preferable not to say anything.

Additionally, if someone else sneezed and he said Yarhamukallah whilst in Salaah, then in this case, his Salaah will break.

From amongst the things that one should abstain from whilst one is in the toilet is the recitation of the verses of Qur'an, Hadith and any respected thing.

Therefore, whilst in the toilet one should refrain from saying Alahumdulillah.

    And Allah Knows Best.
