As-Salaam Aleikum,

I've just got some questions concerning Aqidah. I've started to attended (at least on Fridays) the local masjid (though it's about an hour or so away) and the imam there suggested and then sent me a copy of the 'Aqidah at Tahawiyyah'. I've looked it over and read some of it. I was just wondering if this is a text of Ashari or Maturidi aqidah...or if one typically studies one of these more basic text, before studying advanced texts of either Ashari or Maturidi aqidah. Also, I've heard some things about a third school of aqidah, namely, the Athari school of belief. How does this school of thought differ from the other two and what are some aqidah texts of this school? Also, where can I get my hands on some legitimate Ashari texts, if they're not too advanced for one of my newly-mintedness? Thanks in advance.

Salaam,

Tempest Desh
