    Default Jannatul Baqi

    Assalamu Alaikum
What are the scholars view about a person who is buried in Jannatul Baqi? I've heard the scholars have a unanimous view that, that person goes to Jannat and is forgiven. << Is this true? Also does anybody know of any scholars who were buried in Jannatul Baqi? Jazakallah

    1. Yes this is correct as far as I know. Mawlana Abd ur Raheem Sahib from Dar ul Uloom Bury mentioned that after the holy Prophet (Peace and Blessings from Allah be upon him) is resurrected on the Day of Judgement, he will proceed to Jannaht ul Baqi and collect all those in it and will be with them.

    2. There are many Ulema buried in Baqi. Hadhrat Imam Malik, Hadhrat Imam Nafi', Hadhrat Mawlana Shah Rafi' u Deen Naqshbandi (one of the founding fathers of Dar ul Uloom Deoband), Hadhrat Mawlana Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri, Hadhrat Mawlana Zakariyyah Khandelwi, Hadhrat Mawlana Ashiq Ilahi Bulandshehri (may Allah have mercy on them all), etc, etc.

Is it correct that people who do no deserve to be buried there are taken out by the Angels (Peace be upon them) and replaced by other pious Muslims?

    Assalaamu alaykum:

I am not saying your answer is correct or incorrect. The point I am raising is why did you not provide any DALEEL (evidence) in your answer? The two points you mentioned are not daleel. You quoted a saying of some maulanas and think whatever a maulana says must be true, even if he has no daleel (Evidence)? You just blindly accept whatever some maulana tells you, even if it has no proof from Quraan and Sunnah. Just like the Jews and Christians who accepted as halaal and haraam whatever their rabbis and priests told them, even if it had no evidence from the wahi and from the teachings of the Anbiya who were sent to them. You are following in footsteps of jews and christians, may Allaah guide you to the sunnah, the saved sect of Al Islam (Ameen)

I have a request for all posters: Please do not reply to salafi-muslim, i don't want my thread to go off topic and become a salafi vs. sunni debate. There are threads for that.

Since your point is about bringing Dalaa'il won't you practice what you preach and bring Dalaa'il of the impermissibility of speaking without Dalaa'il? So make a point to yourself from now on that in every post you make, you must bring Dalaa'il.

This is ajeeb. An Alim is an authority in deen. A qualified Alim is not required to give proofs of his every deeni statement to a layman.

O lawyer! Give me the proofs for your legal conclusion otherwise I won't accept your legal advice. O physician! Show me all the proofs of your diagnosis and prescription otherwise I won't take the medicine. O Mathematician! show me the proofs of your equation otherwise I wont accept your formula.

I meant to post on this thread since the sister asked the question so here it is. This is also in support of what the brother posted.

Abdullah ibn Umar narrates that Rasulullah said: He who can die in Madinah let him die there; verily I shall intercede for those who die there (and are buried there).

    (Ibn Hibban)

Note: The scholars of Islam have explained that this is a special intercession, as Rasulullah's intercession will generally be for all muslims. "Who can die in Madinah let him die there" means that he should reside there till his last.

Abu hurairah narrates that Rasulullah said: No one amongst my Ummah who will endure the hardship and rigor of Madinah, without my being an intercessor or witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.

    (Muslim)

    PS

Comparing Islamic scholars to Jewish and Christian rabbis and priests is a grave mistake and a serious misconception.

"The misconception that << Consultation and following of the scholars as is done for priests and rabbis, is nowhere made obligatory in this religion.>>

Learning is without doubt a categorical individual obligation (fard `ayn) in Islam. This learning is done from the People of learning since the beginning of this Deen. What was good for the best generations is good for us. Whatever is necessary toward it is also fard. Shaykh `Abd al-Qadir said in the Ghunya, "Teacher-and-Student will be the way until the Day of Resurrection."

The phrase "as is done for priests and rabbis" in this debate is a smokescreen designed to cloud the issue. It is used mostly dishonestly. Whoever preaches accuracy in explaining {ahl al-dhikr} should first practice it with the terms "priests and rabbis" and beware immensely of training the guns of such terms on the Ulema. The context of those terms in the hadith points to those interested in usurping Divine authority to mislead people and cause them to disobey Allah. This is inapplicable to the Ulema of Islam. Actually, to compare the Ulema and Imams of Islam to the Christian clergy and the Synagogue is kufr."

    needhelp,

Sorry about that, my bad. But comparing the scholars of Islam to Christian and Jewish priests and rabbis in the context of that verse in the Qur'an is straight up ludicrous.

I know, but honestly how do you argue with a fool? He won't listen, he's too busy twisting the meanings of the qur'an so that they suit his desires. No problem brother. Do you know anything about what Al-Faruqi said? I haven't heard that one before.

I haven't heard about what brother Al-Faruqi said but Allah knows best. I've heard more along the lines of what brother Ali Al-Hanafi posted.

I'm sure Ulamaa have written books on what happens in the grave and some of those accounts might have taken place in Madinah.

    Interesting to check out.
