Yes, they are as Deobandis as one can be. Their field is Rad-i-Rifdh, and defense of rights of Sahabah and Ahl al-Bayt. It was founded by Mawlana Haq Nawaz Jhangwi Shaheed (may Allah have mercy on him) in 1985 after huge influence of Shi’as and Khomeini in Pakistan. They were able to, by the help of Allah; stop the 'Khomeinian' influence in Pakistan after his so called 'Islamic Revolution'. Before that many people in Pakistan considered him to be a 'hero' of Islam.

1. First leader was Mawlana Haq Nawaz Jhangwi - martyred in 1991.

2. Second leader was Mawlana Isar al-Qasmi - martyred in 1992.

3. Third leader was 'Allamh Zia al-Rahman Faruqi - martyred in 1997.

4. Fourth leader was Mawlana Azam Tariq - martyred in 2003.

5. Fifth leader was 'Allamah Ali Sher Haydari - martyred in 2009.

Current leader of Mawlana Muhammad Ahmad Ludhianwi.

These and scores of other mid-level and local leaders and scholars were martyred by Shi'a terrorists funded by Iran.
