You might allready do this one brother under the following of the Quran and Sunnah, which is make lots of dua for them to be blessed and protected; also the best way is for them themselves to be living 'under the shade of ALlah's mercy', i.e as practicing muslims, so if any of them are not, then urge them to do so

I am in no way advising others, but myself:

    Daily 'Ibadat:

    1. Daily Quran and Azkar as much as possible.
    2. Memorizing Quran.
    3. Memorizing Hadith.
    4. No sleeping after Fajr.
    5. Tahajjud prayer.
    6. Recitation of Qur'an during Tahajjud time.
    7. If praying alone, not neglecting any Sunnah such as Athan and Iqamah.
    8. Keep home extremely clean.
    9. Income should be only halal.
    10. Whatever you buy for home, buy only halal things with halal money. This is a challenge in the west as one should be knowledgeable regarding the food ingredients and halal meat.
    11. Greeting family members with "assalamu ´alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu" while entering and leaving the house. (Sis. Aakhira's suggestion; thank you.)

Removals: things to get rid of at home.

    1. Internet.
    2. Cable TV.
    3. All pictures and paintings of animals; dolls and toys resembling animals.
    4. Back-biting and bickering.

    Additives:

    1. Frequently invite pious friends.
    2. Orginize halaqas and sohbat's at home.
    3. Teach children Quran at home also.
    4. Don't neglect to invite poor for food.
    5. Weekly organize family summit; to recite Qur'an and make Dua together.
    6. As a head of the family, cry while reciting Qur'an; if you don't feel so, then force yourself for it; children should witness your sincerity in Deen.

I will gladly update my list upon anyone's helpful suggestions.

Brother Verdana's list is great, masha'Allah. I would add greeting family members with "assalamu ´alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu" while entering and leaving the house.
