How did Angels know?

Asalaam aleykum, I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me an answer to my question with proof from hadith or the sunnah of the Prophet saw if possible.

Can anyone tell me how it was that the Angel's know that man would be a creation that would shed blood on the Earth? In the Quran they ask Allah swt why it was that He would create such a creature, but He told them that He knew what they knew not. How would I answer this if anyone asks?

It's amazing that the very same question was answered in a tafseer this saturday at our local masjid.
The tafseer session was on the ayahs relating to this topic.

Mufti sahab said that the angels had made qiyas based on their observation of the lifestyle of the jinnat who used to live on this earth before the creation of humans. Since both the jinnat and humans have similar qualities (free will to choose between good and evil unlike the angels), they made analogy that such outcome may result among the humans as well.

Mufti sahab also clarified: the angels asking Allaah about the necessity of creation of humans was not to protest Allaah's wisdom; rather the angels were implying, "we glorify you constantly, so whatever job you want to take from the humans, please take the work from us." In other words, the angels wished for the honor of being khalifah which Allaah ta'ala granted to the humans. Allaah doesn't need anybody, and it's the honor of those who get utilized by Allaah ta'ala. The angels putting forward their question was to express their readiness in being Allaah's chosen creation in this regard.
