Default How to convince/Write to the HR guys to get vacation for 4 Months to go in Jamaat

Alhamdulillah, the situation in my company is such that if any guy asks for vacation for 4 months, then HR guys ask "are you going in Jamaat"..... Wow Mashallah...but it is really sad that we could not explain to them the beauty of this work

Here is an incident which prompted me to start this thread.

Yesterday, one of my friends Spoke to HR to get vacation for 4 months and the next question HR asked is 'Are u going in 4 months Jamaat' and he was bewildered and puzzled at her question. And she asked him what can they learn by going in Jamaat for 4 months. But unfortunately, the brother could not explain much. He could not get words on the spot to explain the inter-personal skills one can achieve in Jamaat.

So, a thought came to my mind. Why not write a letter stating advantages of going in Jamaat, the letter should be detailing all the skills a person can acquire when he goes in Jamaat.

So, I thought of starting a thread wherein knowledgeable brothers can contribute their ideas.I would request all the members with good command in English and have also been in Jamaat (Especially Muadh Uncle, Moulana Abu Hajira, Moulana E-Teacher, Br. Streetwalker and Sister Kayra) to come up with sample letters detailing all the skills one can learn by going in Jamaat for 4 Months.

These detailed letters can be forwarded to HR guys if employed people (Specially IT guyz) want to go for Jamaat.

Actually it depends upon the current location. for Arab Countries, aur mashaikh tells that not to tell HR or your boss that you are going for 4 months in jamat, just tell them due some personal serious matters i have to go for 4 months. infact juhod for eman is a very serious matter.

I am very suprised that HR would be fine with people taking four month leave. This could be detrimental to the company. How often do you do this?

I know lots of people in various professions who have taken leave for 4 months and then returned to work. I know a few people who have working contracts which they only work for 8 months of the year. I think taking regular leave of 4 months whilst being contracted to work 12 months is not the norm.

How often do they take this leave? Once in 5 years or once a year?

Obviously it depends on what you work as, and where you work, but in general taking 4 months leave is not easy.

I know brothers who go for 4 months every year and thus they either have their own business OR they have re-negotiated their working contract to work for only 8 months of the year.

40 days every year is not much of a issue alhamdulillah. I know one guy who goes for 4 months every3-4 years and yes,he applies for leave and yes, alhamdulillah he gets his leave.

I was generally talking about the scenario in Hyderabad India. Mashallah here, there are lot of people involved in the work in IT industry. We have a seperate halqa for IT employees in our Markaz. We also have 3 days jamaats from our company every month. And if planned properly, one can go for 40 days for every year.

    Wasalam,

Here's an example from a sample letter with a few tweaking of words:

    Dear Anonymous,

I would like to request a forty-day/four month leave of absence for a humanitarian/spiritual (or you can use educational or something else) training course (in self reformation). If possible, I would like to leave work on abc and return on xyz.

If approved, I will be traveling during this time period, but I would be glad to assist with any questions via email or phone.
Thank you very much for your consideration.

    Sincerely,

Before getting hired, my pops used to put 40 days every year etc. as a precondition. That way it won't be unexpected from the employers side.

A person should take it to Allah and ask Him first then ask the boss. Cause' the Boss only does what Allah wants him to do.
