Strange is the VISA of life...it can be cancelled at anytime. The duration of its validity unknown and its Extension too is Impossible. - Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (db)

Salam aleikum
In his commentary to Jawharat al-Tawhid (Ash'ari reference) al-Bajuri mentions six opinions:
1 Taqlid is not valid and al-muqallid is considered kafir
2 al-muqallid is considered Muslim, but sinful
3 al-Muqallid is sinful if he is capable to use his own intellect (ahliyat al-nadhr), if not he’s not sinful. Both types of muqallid are considered Muslims. This is the mu'tamad
4 the one making taqlid of Quran and mutawatir sunna has proper iman, but not someone who makes taqlid of a scholar.
5 taqlid is fine even if following a scholar
6 taqlid is fine, and the opposite of taqlid is haram
Is the mu'tamad of the Maturidiyya the same?

As salamu 'alaykum. Barak Allahu fik Abbe.
Zaineb :
Al Imam As Subki have said : " The Shaykh of the Ash'aris is: Abul Hasan al-Ash'ari. The Shaykh of the Hanfis is Abu Mansur al-Maturidi. They are in agreement regarding the intellectual fundamentals in every area where the textual proof is needed, and in the fundamentals of the Sam'iyyah (the Revelation) in what the intellect can comprehend its permissibility only, and in the intellectual and Sami'iyyah (together) in others. They are in agreement in all areas of creed except in the issue of Takwin and the issue of Taqlid. "

Wa alaykumus salaam
Sorry! I think I misread your post to mean the semantic differences between them. What's the difference between them in taqlid of aqeedah?? I'm not so sure, but I'll try to find out.

Thank you barak Allahu fiki ukhti

Your query below refers;
The meaning of Taqlid in Aqida is to believe in everything the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) brought, without exercising one's own abilities of deduction of its truthfulness. The view of the Hanafis and Maturidis is that this is acceptable and such a person will be considered a believer - even though he may sinning for not exercising his own ability of deduction. The Asha`ira, on the other hand, hold that this type of belief is not sufficient.
