In comparison, a meal for one from a reasonably good takeaway comes to about £3.
lol. I was sort of considering this option because of food. I can live on KFC and Tazzaj for two days, but after that its just too much. Could you possibly give me contact details of the Indian group you joined for food?

Also, I don't really want to go in the group because I wont be utilizing their facilities like talks, tours etc. I prefer to go for umrah on my own and do things myself, especially because of the limited time. Btw do you book online or book when you get there (or is that too risky?)

I think there are some British groups that join up with Indian groups, I suppose that may be an option? But I haven't come across any yet.

We don't book online. We book through close friends (the Madani family from Deoband) who live there. Give me a week or two and I'll see if I can do something for you too.

Ive just got back from umrah about 2 weeks ago, and we payed around £500 each for just the tickets and the visa's. We didn't go with any group, so that saved us money from one way, but on the other hand we stayed at the Hilton's so that cost quiet a bit. But the fantastic thing about these hotels was that they were sooo close to the masjid, just outside....well from window of the the hotel in madina we could see the masjid...

I would love to go back in Ramadan, but need a mahram. But i must say i would be willing to pay any price for the amazing place.

My brother booked it online beforehand, i think it cost about £200 per night im not sure though....he refused to tell me the price.
But i must say one thing its well worth the money due to the convience and closeness to the masjids. We had some problems when checking in and checking out, but alhamduallah nothing too major. When you planning to go? Inshallah

    Salam sister,

Inshallah we will be going for Umra in Ramadan. Could you make any suggestions regarding accomodations in Makkah for us as well?

    Jazakallah khair.
