No place is better for muslims than India

I am very puzzled by such behaviour....If India is the best place why does everyone move outside??? Maybe some of our indian brothers could tell us about India and how it is to be a muslim there? Anyone apart from Hyderabadis as Deccan has always been a muslim majority district of India and the treatment of muslims there seems ok...

Because it IS the best place to practice Islam. For a man to walk around in Sunnah clothing and woman to be in Niqab is so easy. You don't get hassle from everyday Hindus.

If muslims were to come onto Deen en masse in India, the whole country tomorrow will be muslim, albeit with the exception of a small minority, probably Brahmins.

Brother I'm just going by experience. Getting a good job is hard for anyone who is not Brahmin so in this regard India is behind. I would say Pakistan is no better than India. In what way is it better?

    Assalaam'aaleykum!

I would partially agree with you based on my personal experience. My last organisation had no problem with me praying Salah in the office. We used to pray in staircase, some times in the lawn and some times on the production floor in front of hundreds of co-employees. Nobody ever raised any objection.

BUT now I am finding it hard to find an organisation to work with, let alone facing trouble for praying Salah.

Reason: Back then I didn't use to sport a beard, so they let me in. Now they raise objection to my appearance and make it an excuse to reject me in the interview.

    This is not true, Brother.

Although, I reckon that there is discrimination with Muslims in Government sector and also in private sector [more against those who look Muslim]. But to say that Brahmins get upperhand over Non-Brahmin Hindu or other minorities is not true. Employability amongst Non-Muslims are very much balanced as compared to the Muslim community.

    Assalaam'aaleykum!

P.S - Are you trying to get Job in India? And What is your specialization, brother?

    Assalam alaikum w.w...

Just board a train alone wearing sunnah dress in gujrat, maharashtra and bihar.. ,chances are apart from cruel stares.., taunts and verbal abuse one may even risk being thrown out.
discrimination begins at college level.. I remember when the babri masjid issue was in rage in 1993 and riots were sparking quite too often.. it was my sceince class in grade 11 when a lady teacher asks the guy sitting next to me to what he would do in a communal riot if he spotted me near around... that he would attack me or let me go..
that was the 1st shock i recieved.. thereafter it was common for her to speak of hatred towards muslims openly in class.. this was in a peaceful city like bangalore which boasts of IT and software professionals... so imagine the psyche of ppl in gujrat, UP, rajhasthan and maharashtra where illitracy looms large.
at university levels its quite open and obvious . admissions too are caste based.. with a negligible quota reserved for backward class muslims.. which is of course defined by them whoz to be backward...
the picture looks quite better in south compared to the north where educational opportunities are almost denied to muslims... so when I mentioned being a doctor to a north indian muslim.. he was amazed that even muslims could be doctors..
I would say south india is much safer for muslims apart from mumbai.. parts of Delhi and hyderabad.. where they dare poke mischief in muslim dominated areas..
interesting to know is a place called Barcus in Hyderabad.. which constitutes of Yemeni settlers who were once called ' razakas' - part of erstwhile Nizam's armed forces.. now nobody messes around with these guys and even the police rarely venture out alone to thier enclaves... theyre known to inflict maximum damage on the opponents if a riot broke out..
sadly where prayers are concerned its very rare to find musalla's at work places or universities..like u have in london as i was told..
and it should be known that the majority follow the hindutva Ideology where they dream about a 'Mahabharat' which would cover from afghanistan to sri lanka..so they had set a pogrom where they have systematically destroyed flourishing Muslim buisneses.. starting from the leather industry and textile mills in kanpur to demolishing brass industry of muradabad and then the tourism industry of kashmir..
now after crippling them economically, denying them education, setting off bombs in thier mosques, branding the practising ones as radicals..they want to potray themselves as champions of democracy by asking a maulvi saheb to speak against terrorism... what a shame..

    wa assalam..

There's discrimination against muslims everywhere. The only difference is that in India they do it to your face. It's like if you go to Dagenham or some places in the UK, you'll get stares and abuse if you're in Sunnah.

I'm just talking about experience albeit a short one, how its easier in some places of India to practice Deen.

I may be wrong so I'll leave it there.
