A lot of muslims live in their own little areas and don't look at the bigger picture. Yes you could easily slaughter a cow where I'm from in India but in other places it is not the case. That is why I said please don't include Hyderabad, Deccan as its a muslim area and has been for a very long time. The major problem is discrimination. Everytime I have gone to the Indian Embassy in the UK all I get is discrimination. If you look at the statistics with regards to public sector jobs muslims make up a tiny fraction of the workforce. You can kiss goodbye to getting any sort of high level post or management position. I have found that the non-muslims of India are amongst the most racist people I've met. If you have some money and a nice car they look at you with such disgust and jealousy. If you show them a british passport...they look at you as if you have murdered their mum. What their heart conceals is far worse. Some places are very bad...e.g. some parts of Gujrat. The problem you will face is that the police, judiciary etc all discriminate. I think it's the biggest joke in the world that India is a so-called democracy....

Not too sure.. My visa here is based on my husband's, and he has a student's visa.

I'm making du'aa it isn't though because I honestly don't really want to return to my home country.

It shouldn't be that hard. You should have sort of a big pocket, though....I don't know what the situation is like now.

Besides getting approval from a school in SA you have to give the consulate around $800.00 as some type of payment.

I think it's because if SA decides to deport you for whatever reason, then they do it with your own money.

I think lack of education and poverty increases the discrimination, as any where else. In fact, I feel more discriminated against here in Saudi where I am staying since 5 years. However, if you get in the eyes of the police or intelligence, then it will be hell. u loose all ur rights.
May Allah help the Ummah every where.
Can u give us some concrete examples of discrimination in Saudi Arabia ?

I am not an Indian, but I think what you say may be correct... For example, I have seen non-Muslims from India openly asking time and time again why Muslims "have so many children", as if we Muslims are animals that should be culled when we become too many- an obvious sign of total xenophobia and a desire to kill all Muslims. Granted that non-Muslims from other parts of the world also may ask this question, but I have seen Indian Muslims having to give some dumb excuse all the time as to why their own are reproducing more than the non-Muslims.

    It's well known.

A Saudi woman loses her citizenship if she marries a non-Saudi, but a man doesn't. It's like we're Ahlul-Kitab to them.

That is because the Gulf countries chose to accept millions of people outside of their culture to work in order to develop their countries, but yet they are wary of losing their identity. Not that what they are doing is correct, but their mentality is based on fear of losing the sense and identity of who they are.

    salaam,
like the locals sometimes threw stones at me and once even a bottle of pepsi which missed me narrowly. My juniors disrespected me, some patients treated me like a servant, When I went to an office for some work, I was told to get lost and not waste their time. Some Asian doctors' salaries are less than that of Saudi nurses and technicians. And sometimes they even asked me if I was a Muslim even though, Alhamdulillah I have full Sunnah appearance, from head to toe.
A bengali Hafiz was told angrily by the Saudi Imam not to correct him in salaah even if he makes mistakes. There are many instances in the every day life of the non Saudis particularly, the south Asians.
    Racism is very strong here.

bro may ALLAH have mercy upon us....locals throwing stuff at you???Bro the situation seems very bad...I was always under the impression that if you have a beard you get more respect from the saudis. Bro why is their behaviour so bad? And why was the imam unhappy in someone correcting his mistakes...I noticed that a lot of arabs think what does this indian know....etc etc

    Salaams,
    The reasons are-
    Racism, arrogance, jealousy etc
Sometimes these are indirectly and subtly encouraged by the authorities and media here.
But sometimes you meet genuinely religious people who show great respect for the beard and sunnah and treat you kindly.
