Assalamu alaykum

I am a revert to Islam (one month old). Im from a country where there is very little muslims. It is hard to find sisters as most dont speak english and are busy with their families, i personally haven't met any. The only muslim I know (the imam) is "deobandi". Throughout my study of islam before I reverted it was all "salafi" websites, books etc. but I am now confused between the two. Any information on the differences between "deobandi's" and "salafies" would help a lot.
