Assalamu alaikum

I know music is forbidden. What about musical toys or instruments for children? Are these allowed? If so then is this a dispensation? Is it superior to avoid buying such toys/instruments for children?

Should the answer already be posted somewhere then please point me in the right direction as I was unable to find it.
