Maulana Yusuf Motala mentioned in the bayaan in Noorul Islam that salafis used to give Peer Ghulam Habib r.a a very hard time in Haram Sharif.

He said Peer Shahib had an army of followers and the salafis disliked him. Peer Sahibs place was (I understood it to be under the umberellas) where he could clearly see the dome in Masjid e Nabawi Sallalahu Alayhi Wassalum and he would perform murakaba there. One time Peer Sahib was coming and Maulana Yusuf Motala went upto him, gave salams and asked him are you ok? Peer sahib replied they keep taking me away.

I cant remember exactly but I think Maulana Yusuf Motala mentioned further that they would literally take him away and put him in a room. Im not sure whether it was to question him because Maulana Yusuf didnt say. But they would do this on many occassions intentionally to disturb him. This didnt deter Peer Sahib.

He then went onto say how the Salafis hate sufis such as Maulana Rumi and Mujaddid Alfe Thani.

brother, this is not nice. Shawafi fold their hands above navel, While women on the their chest. Malikiya move their fingers during Tashahud. Shawafi and Hanbli say Ameen aloud with madd. So if we are not hasty in calling them all names because their fiqh may be different than us, then we neednt call Salafis names as well.

Best is to present the academic discourse, and leave the matters in hand of Allah.

JazakAllah brother, however, you should read brother dr's Madhab. It's shafii. Wallah, I don't really have to explain it to you, but stand a shafii and a Salafi side by side, and you can tell the difference. In our masaajid, there are shafii, maliki, hanbali , hanafi and pseudo-salafis. One can spot a Salafi from a distance. A Shafi'i would say Aameen, and a Hanbali would say Aameen, with voice, but a Salafi would yell his gutts out in Aameen. As per Mufti Zar Wali Khan sahib, there's Aameen bil Jahr, and Aameen bis Sirr, but salafi aameen is Aameen bish-sharr.

Likewise, Shawafi fold their hands on the chest, but Salafis hold their hands on the neck. So the brother, even being a Shafi'i, is justified in what he said.... just my thought...
