Default Riba and dinner invitations from relatives

What is the ruling on accepting an invitation to a dinner given by relatives who've bought houses with riba-based loans? Basically every relative of mine (including my parents) is up to their necks in riba-debt. Would eating their food amount to devouring riba???

Was wondering about this a while back and got faced with a conflict of perspectives, if I rejected the person's invitation it will cause breaking family ties, whilst I also thought that there are situations by which I purchase from non-Muslims who are selling items (food, clothing etc ) but therein I have not verified the authenticity of their source of revenue, but most likely it will be be based on riba, also the bank in which my money is a source of riba.. Eventually the only conclusion I could arrive at was accepting the invitation, (in the way I figured it out) as being the lesser of two evils i.e they are still Muslims (and family members) though engaged in sinful actions.

Maybe you can carry your own food. This would send a strong message to your relatives and when questioned, you can explain about riba, give books, CDs, print out articles etc.
