Classical Logic (Mantiq) texts?

Assalaamualaykum Mufti Sahab,

Which of the two English translations of al-Qistas al-Mustaqeem are better (R. McCarthy`s one or D. P. Brewster`s one)?

The Brewster one is the one I read through when I taught the book. I haven't read the other one so can't compare and say which one is better.

The Brewster one had some mistakes (comprehension mistakes) which I generally highlighted for the students when I taught it. Overall though, it was good.

Interesting stuff. How would one go about studying mantiq to a very high level? Shariah Program appears to cover the core concepts and provide a foundation as such, but if one wanted to master logic? I remember sunnipath offering several mantiq courses in the past, but they dont seem to anymore even on their qiblah site.
