Well, indeed. At least I thank Allah that Im not born into a Malay society where women can walk half naked and people learn/teach Islam in a co-education environment , oh the irony. Alhamdulillah the people of Indian/Pakistani origin are blessed with Allah's mercy that they care for the muslim brothers around the globe, despite there being some black sheep and bad apples among them. Yet, from the very same crowd, Allah raised some of the Abdaal of this Ummah.
You can disregard my comment about Malay or Indonesian descents, it was just a response. I get hated by my own brothers because I like chicken . Look at this comment!!!
:SLol! You are a chick freak.

the same way we get told by Indians that they glad they not Maplas-thats racism for you. where i stay the Indians are the bigest racist & this is post apartheid south africa. the africans will tell you that too & yoiu all think that the whites were bad.
we just saying that we glad we not indian, therefore we not in the berelwi deobandi fitnah.

bro you are now going to far discussing woman like that. why can the Indo Park woman only cover theirselves correctly when in niqaab. if they not in niqaab they have no sense of hijaab. with these punjabi suits with high slits & a thin shawl that only covers the back of their heads. we have a major issue in our masjied becaus woman from Indo/park decent dont know how to dress for salah. a masjied that is 50 years old in a malay area has to now in the last 5-10 years have burkhas at the door for these woman.
& co ed. atleast when we have maulids the men have it in one masjid & the ladies in a seperated section. or the men one day & the woman the next. whenever there is a indian maulid the men & wioman are in the same tent.
& there were no Abdals in other parts of the world. there were never non indian great scholars. when the indian came to south africa they found us here, the quraan was already here written from memory, there were hufadh, major books of fiqh were already translated. so then how did we do it in a time when islaam was banned.
Erm , yeah, but again, we don't have half naked ladies walking around now do we? Where's the sense of shame in that? At least not in public swimming pools and hotels, trust me, and we don't call it "Islamic country" like Malaysia, what do you have to say about that?
Seems to me you're really into ethnic differences. Hey! we can go all day, only on the bazaars of Kuala Lampur. But you totally missed the point. If you don't get the point, Im only debating pointlessly.

& there are no half naked woman in India. man have you not watched the movies-oh no they use hindu woman for those but they have muslim men hanging all over them.
Malaysia is not 100 % muslim- you might be seeing non muslims, & why you looking anyway.
I am not malay but my ancesters were, just like the indian girls in SA are not indian their grandfathers were. you should see how naked they are.
you surpose to be pro tabligh but you got no idea what da'wah is. hate the sin not the sinner. I will say this again I said I am glad that I am not indian because I am glad Im not affected by the Deo Berel split. its a supcontinent issue that should have stayed there & because of the british sending for indians as cheap labour we have indians all over the world & now we have this issue of two madrasahs with the same madhab, same aqeedah & same sufi order but still cant get along bubbling in every major city on earth.
Slm,
And now it makes it difficult for a revert follower of Hanafi fiqh like me...sometimes I am called a Deo and other times a 'Salami'/Berelwi right here in SA and I know next to nothing about the great Deo/Barelwi split there in India!

you would never have this in the time of the great ulama. if ulama had differences they would settle it without defaming the other. & if these schools in india are at each others throats why should you know about it.
I wont lie once I was at a friends house, they have a masjid just behind there house so we walked for asr. i whent straight because you should go for what is closer then my friend said no this is sunni " I said so me to, I mean Im not shia' so I must be sunni" , he said no they make salami- I was like so I eat salami when its halaal. he said salami in when they sing nazms, I was a bit stupid when it came to indian words. so he said they sing songs about the nabi, I asked him to say a few words he "ya nabi salaam alayka......." i was like so what. Only after reading so many things on the net I actualy know the gripe.

Brother, you completely missed the point. As I said, there are bad apples in every basket but you are painting all Indians and Pakistanis with the same brush. And brother Usman has a valid point as well. Does Malaysia claim to be a Muslim country? Does India claim to be a Muslim country? As far as Pakistan is concerned, yes, the jahiliyyah of modernism has affected it but you don't see women in anything close to a swimsuit in public areas, even around other women.
As for the "Deo/Barelwi" split, it is on issues that are made major by the other side. Yes, we share the Hanafi fiqh, aqaid (in most aspects), etc. but on issues we DO differ upon, they are made up to be huge issues by the other side. The story you just narrated about your friend is such a thing: the reason we say it is better to avoid Barelwi mosques is because of the dubiousness of the imam's aqida. To believe that Rasoolullahis hadhir and nadhir is shirk. It is better not to follow a bid'ati in salah.
ياايها الذين امنوا اذكروا الله ذكرا كثيرا

They why continue to do it and with such vigor?
I am not an ethnic Indian or "Pakistani" or Malay and I shared the brother's sentiments. He and I both have clarified our statements that when we said we were happy not to be of Indo-Pak descent was because we don't have to deal with the cultural baggage of the deobandi-barelvi split; nothing more.
Amazing how sensitive, and quick to jump the gun, some people are
