Those people who did accept saudi claims here in the uk then what actions were taken to verify these claims?

I agree with the above. Those who accept Saudi decisions, considering all the doubt that is there in their declarations, what steps are taken to make sure that the Saudi sightings are correct? The only information they provide is: The moon was sighted and Ramadhan will start tomorrow. They can never convince us skeptics about their decisions with such simple announcements.

But when it comes to a story which discredits their methods, we want all the evidence in the world? Those who know bedouins, and Saudis, and know how the Saudis arrive at decisions, will find it very easy to believe that story. Stuff like that is totally expected out of Saudi Arabia.

Maybe we should take Saudi Moonsighting declarations with 'a grain of salt'. : )

talking of evidence there is no credible evidence that moon was sighted on tuesday evening in saudi.those people who did accept saudi claims here in the uk then what actions were taken to verify these claims? until we have proper safeguards in place to verify these saudi claims then we should be very vigilant otherwise we will have incorrect start/finish to ramazan.

Please enlighten me on what criteria was given by the Prophet on the definition of credible evidence for moon sighting?

The choice is entirely up to you and you are correct that is sways either way.

Not everyone requires the thorough clarifications and evidences like I have suggested above, but I do especially when you are going to make accusations in a public forum that could be responsible for causing fitna.

For the actual moon sighting issue I do not read much into it and go with the local Imaam and scholars, therefore have nothing more to say on that matter. My point as stated is the accusation.

i would say that it will suffice for you and not to read any more into this matter, in fact ignore all post related to the moon sighting for the next 28 days [at least] and concentrate on making this month one that will dramatically bring you closer to Allah.

or is it that its the same merry go round story, we follow this masjid and the masjid says it follows dewsbury markaz and dewsbury say they dont get involved in this issue so follow bury darulloom and they say follow jamiat who say they follow hizbul ulama who cant provide proof of who they got information from?

in our masjid it is the Ulama that make these decisions related to fiqh and Islam issues.
