Wa alaikum assalam,
I know one hanbali scholar from Karachi, but unfortunately he is here for umrah. I just met him. He teaches in Pk. He led asr prayers here in Madinah, and prayed 4. I asked him why 4, you are a musafir, he said according to us hanbalis, we become muqeem after the niyat of 4 days. I asked him are you hanbali or salafi? He said im pure hanbali
If you have some question i can ask him, and also ask for his number etc so you can contact him when he's back there.

Jazak Allah khair
Please do give me contact details asap.
I wanted to ask him about holding the Qur'an during Tarweeh's, living in Karachi the most easily acessable Masjids are Hanafi. In a Hanafi masjid certian people do hold the Qur'an while praying Taraweeh's but I wanted to be sure about the Hanbali ruling on this matter as I have heard people saying that all four schools of thought prohibit holding the Qur'an during prayer.
Wassalaam

...As pointed out earlier, it is permitted according to the Shafi’i and Hanbali Schools to recite from a Mushaf in Fardh and Nafl prayers, whether one has memorized the portion one is reciting or not. According to Imam Malik, it is permitted to do so in Nafl and Tarawih prayers. (See: al-Majmu’ of Imam Nawawi and Kasshaf al-Qina’ of Bahuti 1/361)
Their proof is the report recorded by Imam al-Bukhari in his Sahih without a chain of transmission (mu’allaqan) that “Sayyida A’isha (may Allah be pleased with her) would pray behind her slave Zakwan, who would recite from a Mushaf.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 1/245 and Fath al-Bari 2/239)...

They've gone to Makkah today, i forgot to ask him for his saudia number but asked for his karachi number. He teaches there in Madrassah Ibn e Abbas, 00923343409352 Sheikh Moosa Iraqi. He speaks Urdu but arabic very fluently cause he's iraqiYou can tell him i got your number from someone in Madinah as i told him someone needs your number in karachi. He will go back to karachi after ramazan

After seeing this thread today, i called the Sheikh just to confirm if this number is still working. Yes it's working and i had a brief conversation with him. He teaches Arabic in the madrassah, he said that he is not a Mufti but if someone want to ask questions relating to Hanbali fiqh, he will answer them.

Is there a biography of his available?
