Recent fatwas confirm that insulin should not be injected into the stomach.
However the stomach itself is in a certain location inside the belly.. can one inject on the side of his belly? right or left? I wouldnt be injecting in my stomach literally..
or is it too close?
I have recently started to control my diabetes b/c I inject in the morning before showering for work.. on the sides of my belly.
so either I inject at night (hard to remember, tougher, etc) or inject elsewhere (not so easy)..
any thoughts or tips?

The wordings of the fatwa was:
It is permissible to withdraw some blood to check for sugar while fasting. It is also permissible to take an insulin injection while fasting, as long as it is not taken directly into the stomach.
The insulin injection does not go directly into the stomach (the organ). The injection is only at the skin covering the front of the abdomen. So I don't think it would be a problem. If you are particular in avoiding skin of abdomen then Thigh is an alternate area for insulin injections.
