What Non-Muslims Say About The Prophet

“I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Savior of Humanity."

"I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today.”
    - Sir George Bernard Shaw in 'The Genuine Islam,' Vol. 1, No. 8, 1936.

My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world’s most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the secular and religious level. ...It is probable that the relative influence of Muhammad on Islam has been larger than the combined influence of Jesus Christ and St. Paul on Christianity. ...It is this unparalleled combination of secular and religious influence which I feel entitles Muhammad to be considered the most influential single figure in human history.
    - Michael Hart in 'The 100, A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons In History,'

Serious or trivial, his daily behavior has instituted a canon which millions observe this day with conscious memory. No one regarded by any section of the human race as Perfect Man has ever been imitated so minutely. The conduct of the founder of Christianity has not governed the ordinary life of his followers. Moreover, no founder of a religion has left on so solitary an eminence as the Muslim apostle.
    - D. G. Hogarth in 'Arabia'

I wanted to know the best of the life of one who holds today an undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind.... I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet the scrupulous regard for pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. When I closed the second volume (of the Prophet's biography), I was sorry there was not more for me to read of that great life.
    - Mahatma Gandhi

"Philosopher, Orator, Apostle, Legislator, Conqueror of Ideas, Restorer of Rational beliefs.... The founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he?"
    - Alphonse de LaMartaine

"If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astonishing results are the three criteria of a human genius, who could dare compare any great man in history with Muhammad?
    - Alphonse de LaMartaine

"He was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without Pope's pretensions, Caesar without the legions of Caesar: without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue; if ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by the right divine, it was Mohammed, for he had all the power without its instruments and without its supports."
    - Rev. Bosworth Smith

“He was the most faithful protector of those he protected, the sweetest and most agreeable in conversation. Those who saw him were suddenly filled with reverence; those who came near him loved him; they who described him would say, "I have never seen his like either before or after." He was of great taciturnity, but when he spoke it was with emphasis and deliberation, and no one could forget what he said...”
    - Stanley Lane-Poole – Table Talk of the Prophet

And indeed, you are of a great moral character. (Qur'an 88:4)
And we raised high for you your repute. (Qur'an 94:4)

RasoolAllaah disallowed sahabah to curse a person who used to make RasoolAllaah laugh
Da sorrow in my heart wil remain, until I'm given da glad tidings of Jannah,
Until I hold my book in my right hand+my eyes r cooled by da sight of RasoolAllaah

    ‎

The diet of Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , was modest and it reflected the life of a person not in love with the temptations and trappings of this worldly life. The best way to know what and how Our Beloved Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ate and drank is to let the Hadith on the subject speak for themselves...

Washing hands before and after eating:
    Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
"The blessings in the meal is by washing before and after it."
    (Sunnan Abu Daud)

The importance of Bismillah at the start:
    Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
"When one of you eats, and he forgets to mention the name of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala then let him say, 'Bismillahi Wa Awwalahu wa Aakhirahu.'
    (Narrated in Ashraf al-Wasail ila-fahm al-Shamail, p269).

Respecting food as it is a gift from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala:
"Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ never ever complained regarding any food, if he liked it he ate it, if did not he left it."
    (Sunnan Abu Daud)

Honoring the food by licking the plate :
    Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , said:
"Whoever eats in a plate let him (at the end) lick it, the plate will ask forgiveness for him."
    (Ahmad)

Gaining blessings (Barakah) by eating together:
The Companions of the Nabie
    'O رسول صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , we eat but are not satiated.'
'Perhaps you eat separately?' They replied that they did.
'Eat your food together and say Bismillah before you start, that will bring blessings into your food.'"
    (Abu Daud)

The blessings descend for the believer in the middle of the plate:
    Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
"When one of you eats let him not partake from the middle of the plate, rather take from around it, for the blessings descend from upon the middle of it."
    (Sunnan Abu Daud)

Importance of eating using the right hand:
    Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
"When of you eats let him eat with his right hand, for verily Satan eats and drinks with his left hand." (Abu Daud)

Praising Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala after eating and drinking:
    Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
"Verily, الله سبحانه و تعالى is pleased with His servant when he eats a morsal and praises hims, and when he takes a drink and then praises him (اَلْحَمْدُالَّله)."
    (Abu Daud)

    Importance of the evening meal:
    Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
"Partake of the evening meal even if it be a handful of dried dates, for verily missing the evening meal brings on old age quickly."
    (Tirmidhi)

Hadrath Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said:
"The most beloved food to رسول صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ was Thareed (a mixed dish consisting of crumbled pieces of bread in a type of broth that includes meat.)"
    (Abu Daud)

May الله سبحانه و تعالى give us the strength to continue practicing the sunnahs of our Beloved Nabie صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ until we breathe our last.

    Ya Nabi salaam alaika
    Ya Rasool salaam alaika
    Ya Habib salaam alaika
    Swalawatullah alaika

    As-tufailay Ghouse Azam,
    Ganj Bakhsay faizay azam,
    sadqaye Imam e Azam,
door houn sabh hi kay ranj o gham.

A poem in praise of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad Sallal lahu alay hee wa sallam:

    Pilgrim's lament.
    --------------------------
    By Osman Kazee (Bolton)

    1.
A single day does not go by
that I don't yearn for you,
    and everyday I beg Allah
to make my dream come true.

    2.
    My one and final wish in life;
    to be your honoured guest
to walk all day in your footsteps,
    this is my final quest.

    3.
O Blessed man, most loved by God,
    of sublime temperance
I'd give the world and all I own
    to see your countenance.

    4.
O Greatest man that ever lived,
    of manners most refined
    piety, virtue, godliness;
    by your example were redefined.

    5.
    Muhammad-Ahmed-Mudassair
    Hamid, Taha, Yaseen
    Khatim,Hameem,Muzammil
The best human there's ever been.

    6.
In wretched state I appeal to you
    with acts that are disgraceful
One word from you on my behalf
    would render me successful.

    7.
My eagerness is racked with fear,
    with panic I am fraught
dare I breath the air you breathed,
or place my foot where you had walked.

    8.
If people would not think me mad,
    I'd fall prostrate upon your door;
I'd shriek and cry n then Allah
    In earnestness I would implore.

    9.
In Ta-if you did suffer much,
With wounds that did so bleed
Empathy though, in you was such,
that for their guidance you did plead.

    10.
An angry mob with spiteful hate,
    such wickedness displayed
    Forbearance, grace and clemency,
with sublime traits they were repayed.

    11.
Your uncles death, though painful still
    You did not even avenge?
Upon the conquest you gave reprieve
    No malice, hate nor revenge.

    12.
    Muhammad-Ahmed-Mudassair
    Hamid, Taha, Yaseen
    Khatim,Hameem,Muzammil
The best human there's ever been.

    13.
And this poem of mine would be so flawed
    if you companions were not named;
    celestial souls, devout and chaste
in heavens and Earth they are acclaimed.

    14.
Abu bakar, Ali and Saifullah, ibnul Jarrah
    Fatima, Asma, Sumayya and Khadijah
    Suhayb, Omar, Sa'ad, Abdur Rahman
    Ammar, Usman and our Salmaan.

    15.
    Aisha, Zainab, rukayya
    Zubair, Talha, Bilal and Ikrama
Abu zar, Salma and pious Hafsa
    Mus'ab, Yasir, Hamza Asadullah.

    16.
    Those mentioned here are just a few;
to a solemn pledge they were so true.
    Into Jannah you will admit
these saintly souls who did submit.

    17.
They cried for us and shed their blood
    when ever they were bidden,
for they knew well and understood:
    in sacrifice guidance is hidden.

    18.
    So let us repent and
turn our backs upon our treachery
O Muslims let our slogan now be.......
    Salloo alayhi wa aali hee.
