Question on the Shadhili Khalwa

Salaam,

This is for the mureeds of Shaikh Nuh damat barakatuhu; if you have got up to the stage inwhich you can do the khalwa, do you have to go to Jordan, or can it be done somewhere else? I know its prefered in Jordan, but I'm just wondering. Jazakallah khair.

As far as I know there are certain places in Jordon that the khalwa is done. I was supposed to meet a mureed of his who has done the khalwa. It would be great to get some insight into their routine, what is actually read etc. Some of our saintly elders would do chillas at the graves of the auliya...maybe majlis raipuri can confirm but if I remember correctly maulana abdur raheem raipuri spent 1 chilla at the grave of some major wali. If I am not mistaken shaykh sabir kalyari rh. Anyone nowadays the chilla has evolved more into going jamaat for 40 days. But previously before jamaat it was some sort of khalwa in a cave or by the grave of some wali. ALLAH knows best.
