    Default Tableghee Jamaat "Tactics"

I have spent very little time in Jamaat but had the opportunity to listen and learn from the great Akabir of Nizaumuddin & Raiwind (in public and in private) and I would like to share some personal advice given to me by Mashaykh.

    1) BUSINESS: You have to make Tableegh your “Business” and only then you can devise and use the correct tactics as your “Business” is to:

    a. Sell

    b. If you can’t sell at least raise the curiosity and interest

Of those who are not interested in the product (i.e. the Deen). You efforts should raise the interest "at least a notch" in the Deen of Allah (SWT) of everyone you do Tableegh to.

The ideas are from Akabir of Tableeghi Jamaat discussed and detailed in "Khas Jodhs" or "old workers Ijtemaas" but the wording is mine as I can't remember the exact Urdu at the moment.

In the next posts will follow 3 real life examples of Ulama & Mashaykh actually carrying this out which helped me understand what they actually mean.

P.S: This isn't a Tableeghi Jamaat bashing thread and if you disagree with Jamaat you are under no obliation to read or comment and requested not to derail the subject.

Mashallah great stuff...ALLAH bless tabligh jamaat. Here in the UAE whenever I got into a taxi and the guy had a beard then he was a tablighi...Actually all the guys who I met who talked about deen amongst the taxi drivers were tablighis. These same guys would always want to give me a free ride and they would feel privilidged having a bearded guy like me sitting in their taxi. Most of these guys are pathans. I mean UAE is so dead that a simple tablighi doing taleem for 5 minutes seems like a gathering from heaven or an oasis in the desert....Tableegh is so simple yet so great....if only they were more pro...cough cough leave that for another thread as I don't want the colonal to get angry

I wrote some poems making praise Of Tableeghi Jam'aah a few years ago, when I had much less knowledge of Islaam.
The greatest hijaab people have of Tableegh is their simplicity- people just see sleeping bags and tea and a few unlettered people with a paltry knowledge of deen(in some cases)- if only people could have kashf and see the delegations of angels stretching from the Markaz to the skies filling each heaven with illumination

The years of learning has only increased me in my love for them, and Has only caused the poems to seem truer to me.

    Example 1:

Narrated to me by an old US worker resident in New York:

I went to Pakistan after a number of years and my intention was to attend Raiwind Ijtema. I invited my brother to attend and also requested Haji Abdul-wahab Saheb to give him some personal Dawah.

My brother would have none of it as he hated Tableeghees and considered them a waste of time but reluctantly he agreed as I was after all a guest (in the country). Due to his attitude I was dreading the meeting as my brother had vowed to give the Tableeghees “a piece of his mind”.

We went to see Haji Saheb who asked him what he did to which my brother replied that he was a “Research Engineer at Pakistan Railways (MughulPura, Lahore) for Diesel Engines”.

Haji Saheb immediately got annoyed and said, “What are you doing? I ask you what are you doing? We have been independent for so many years and you guys can’t even manufacture a Diesel Engine (in Pakistan)? I went to India and they have their own Diesel Engines, is this why we sacrificed all the lives for you guys not to excel in Technology?”

My brother was immediately on the back foot and started elaborating technology constraints and the progress which they had made.

Haji Saheb would have none of it and his voice kept getting louder and louder in protest.

My brother kept defending and explaining their work and plans for the future.

More discussions about Diesel Engine technology followed and I was actually very surprised to know that Haji Saheb knew about Diesel consumption.

The meeting came to an end without a SINGLE WORD about Islam or Tableegh, in fact nothing else apart from Diesel Engines & India were discussed.

On the way back my brother was actually angry at me for not getting a longer appointment with Haji Saheb and angry for not knowing “brilliant and enlightened Tableghees”.

I retruned to New York but my brother returned many times saw Haji Saheb and updated him on Diesel Engine developments (as Haji Saheb had asked him to keep him informed) & eventually joined the work and spent 4 months.

    lol...nice one...

When you go to someone's house and you sit down and they ask you for water or tea, always prefer tea over water because tea takes longer to make and drink and hence, you will have more time to sit and talk about religion with the person.
