Revert Brother needs help

There is a brother who has reverted from Christianity, he lives in York (UK) and is having difficulty finding muslim brothers to guide him and help him.
he has taken his shahada and would like to learn to read Salah and Quran now. Does anyone know any brothers living in York or near there?
if u dont know someone, kindly ask around.

I don't personally know any brothers in or around York. However, it maybe a good idea for him to be introduced to this forum insha'Allah, there are some good brothers and sisters here, whom I'm sure, are more than willing to help. My best suggestion other than that would be, for him to visit a local masjid and introduce himself to the imam/some of the practising local brothers and ask for help and for them to teach him.

I find forums to be addictive, misleading (at times) and an invitation for debates. People will get into debates of the issue of different sects, of differences in aqeeda and any topic they can find. For a new Muslim that can be confusing and overwhelming.

Personally I would rather give the brother some reading, audio and video material, have one or two brothers talk to him online and find someone he could spend time with in york to give him the Islamic environment he needs.
If you think I am taking a wrong approach then do let me know : )

I will ask him to get in touch with the isoc of York uni, there should be brothers there who can help him. Meanwhile if some brother can volunteer to talk to this revert, that would be great as I would prefer a brother talking to him than me explaining Islam to him. Jazakumullahu khayran.

Well thats the only way or may be mods can help.
Itl be good if you can tell me a little about his background and reasons of coming to islam and Inshallah, im going to help this brother out as much as I can.

brother i have only spoken to him once, i forwarded him some online material and got his e-mail. (i was given his details through another sister in UAE over Facebook) All i know is he is from greece originally and working in York. I will post the e-mail here when u r online, then once u get it i will delete the post....

brother its not my e-mail, its the revert brothers e-mail... i guess i can ask him to make an e-mail or someone ask a moderator to e-mail me then i can give the e-mail to the mod and he can pass it on to helper_man
