Does anyone know the modern day equivalent of the amount of mahr that Ali (ra) gave to Fatima (ra)?
I've heard one opinion state $250 and another opinion that it was $313.

When giving mahr does it have to be given in an odd number or something.

Mahr-e-Fatmi is 1530 g of silver, which comes to about $428 CND (approx. $347 US). The amount can fluctuate based on fluctuations in the price of silver.
