    Assalam O Alaikum

Kiss My Face products are made in Greece and in bar soap they do not use alcohol in fragrance and they are not sure about alcohol in fragrance in other products. They do not use any animal fat based
ingredients. So my recommendation is to buy those products without fragrance.

Here is what their ingredient specialist had to say in her email to me:

Hello- I spoke to you last week regarding fragrance in our olive oil soaps. I received confirmation from Greece this morning that there is no alcohol in the products as well as no animal by products. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further help.

The question was, if there is any alcohol in the fragrance of the following product:

People here in USA are marketing and sale and they do not have any technical person here. Every thing has to come from Greece. My adviced is to use only non fragrance products.

"We do not use any animal ingredients except beeswax and honey. It's unlikely that the fragrances in our other products have alcohol but we cannot guarantee that they do not. Fragrance ingredients are proprietary. Thanks."

    Hi,

Thanks for your e-mail, no alcohol in fragrance is also true on other makeup or any products. Does any animal fat based ingredients are used in other products beside bar soap.

Salams sister, Tbh with you I am wondering why a muslimah needs make up? I know we all love to wear it but shouldn't we all try to not wear it fot the sake of Allah? unless your at home. I use to wear alot but I took it off Im trying my best to avoid gycerine :vomit; so inShallah going as natural as possible with skin care. You could try that or organic or vegetarian skin care. I knw they have those for the vegan society

Clinique is Okay, you just have to watch out for their lipsticks cause they may contain carmine

Covergirl would be haram for two reasons: they test on animals, and they have no regulation of what goes in their ingredients (i.e. your could have pig or cow derived ingredients which will invalidate your namaz)

Avon doesn't use any pork products, but they have carmine in their lipsticks and use bovine (i.e. cow) in almost everything. Their recent lipsticks (ultra rich) and one of their mineral blushes contains urea (animal urine). I work for Avon, but I delete any products that are haram, so non of my customers waste money on any haram products, but I'm going to quit cause it is a huge hassle to check all ingredients, and also a huge risk if I miss out on an ingredient. I also work for Mary Kay, and there products are incredible quality, plus they are vegetable based so you can close your eyes and pick out any skincare product without worrying . This doesn't include the lipsticks though. Mary Kay lipsticks still have carmine as a "MAY contain" ingredient. One thing you have to watch out for is that many cosmetic companies that are "vegetable based" don't regard carmine as an animal derived ingredient

Please check out my blog mariabuckbuck.blogspot.com It's relatively new but I constantly update it with new info regarding halal and haram makeup. This website is only for sisters.

let me know if em wrong!
In my blog, there is a link that states 'What makes it haram or halal', in the topic for Alcohol I included a footnote with a link that gives more informative detail on the ruling of Alcohols in cosmetic/fragrance.

From what I can remember, the article states that most synthetic alcohols are not created from grapes or dates. However, Ethyl Alcohol is the exception. Ethyl Alcohol is produced from grapes/dates and can pass into the bloodstream from the skin and is an intoxicant. That's what makes Ethyl Alcohol haram.

However, everyone has their own opinion about such products. And I know some people who only wear ithr, and refuse to wear perfumes regardless of what type of alcohol is in the product. I think that practice is only for those that Mash'Allah are very strong in their belief; most people however would find that rule pretty hard to abide by.

I have found some brands that don't have alcohol at all in their fragrances, that would be another option.

    Hope this helps!
