Masha'Allah, I'm a huge lover of Hadhrat Mufti sahab. May Allah lengthen his life.
Assalamualikum wmwbt,
Can someone tell me more about Sheikh Mahmood Effendi..??
Dunya ki mehfilon se ukta gaya hun ya RABB,
Kiya lutf e anjuman ka jab dil hi bujh gaya ho.!

He's the chief Naqshbandi-Mujaddidi-Khalidi Shaykh in Istanbul, amongst the Sufi Mashaykh of Turkey, one of the most vocal in calling to the Sunnah.
His Silsilah has established Madaris all over Turkey, and various of his Khulafa' are quite prominent and influencing in Turkey.
Interesting to note the appreciation words he used for some of the Deoband Akabir, for example see:

I'm sure other brothers may add more and better than me.
Hadhrat Mufti Muhammad Rafi' sahab talked about his journey to Turkey last Jumu'ah at DU Karachi:

I am listening to it right now...

Mufti sahab mentioned the conference in Turkey as the reason for his abscene on the previous Jumu'ah, as he usually gives the Jumu'ah Wa'az and Khutbah at Darul Uloom Karachi. He explained that the conference was conducted due to two great personalities of Islam: Mawlana Qasim Nanotwi and Shaykh Mahmud Efendi. A little info on both was given and he drew similarities between both their achievements. Hadhrat then mentions the huge progress Turkey has made in the last decades, which he observed himself by visiting Turkey quite often.

Salam! Do you have any more information about this sheikh? Is anyone here his murid? Or at least does anyone know any of his murids who speak English, Arabic or some Slavic language?
