The Blessed Tongue Of Mustafa(saw)
The Blessed Tongue of Mustafa(alayhi salam) was exceedingly Pure. It was the acme of the embodiment of Knowledge, Spiritual Courtesy, Eloquence, Rhetorical brilliance, Truth, Veracity, Kindness and Love. It was decisive in its distinction between truth and falsehood. Its speech was Clear and unambiguous, and devoid of all manner of flaws such as lies and fabrications. It was far removed from falsehood, gossip, foul talk etc. In other words his(saw) words are like outpourings of glittering diamonds falling down from a string.
Zarqani A’lal Mawahib (Volume4:Page99)
In addition to this Allah(swt) gifted Him with vast knowledges e.g. He was able to speak with all the various languages. When he conversed in a another tongue, he had full regard for the laws and rhetorical devices to be utilised in that particular language- such that even the native speakers of that parlance would be left bedazzled. The muhaditheen have elaborated that whenever someone from another land frequented and spoke in his native tongue, then he(saw) would speak to him in that language. This was a divinely bestowed linguistic power given to him(saw)
Kitaab As-Shifaa (Volume1:Page 44)
This was indeed befitting of his rank as he(saw) was sent to all nations. Therefore it was imperative that he was given the knowledge of all peoples and be aquainted with their languages.
Allamah Shahaabudeen Khafajee Misri(Rahmatullahi Alayhi) relates that a delegation came to Rasulollah(saw) once from a country. He was in the masjid nabawi at the time. When they visited the mosque, they were unable to recognise him( because unlike worldly kings who maintain pomp and show- he(saw) did not take steps to differentiate himself from the sahaba)) So a man said in his colloquial parlance “Man Abuaan asraan”- In other words “Who is the messenger of Allah(swt) from amongst you” No-one understood his words from those present. The Prophet(saw) said “Ashk Daa-dar” – meaning “Come forward”. So they came forward and conversed and he(saw) replied to their queries in their own language. The sahaba were unable to comprehend. Eventually they accepted rasul(saw) as their Allah’s messenger, and after this they returned to their own land
(Mawahib Laduniyya)
Muhammad Bin Abdur rahman Zuhri relates from his paternal grandfather that once someone said in non-arabic “Ya rasulollah Ayidalak ar rajal umratika” The messenger(saw) replied “Na’am Idhaa Kaana Muflija”
Abu Babra(RA) Said “Oh Rasulollah(saw)- what did he say to you and what did you say to him?” Muhammad(saw) said “He asked me is it permissible for a man to take a loan from his wife and defer payment for some time. So I replied that he may provided that he is bankrupt.
Upon hearing this Abu Bakr(radiallaho anho) said that I have traversed the cities of Arabia. I have witnessed the speech of many many of the eloquent (Fusa-haa) ones of the arabs. But I have NOT heard anyone as eloquent as you. So the Messenger(saw) said “ This is the endowment of my LORD”
Khasais Al kubra (Volume 1:Page 63)
Zarqani A’la Mawahib(Volume 4:Page 101)
Imaam Halabi(rahmatullahi Alayhi) narrates from shawahid-an-nubuwwah that when Salmaan Al-Farisi(radiallaho Anho) reached the messenger(saw), and began to speak, he requested a jew to translate for him. (He was a merchant and cognisant of the Persian language). He listened to the words of Salman(ra)- who was praising the messnger(saw) and condemning those who prevent people from meeting Muhammad(saw). But the jewish translator thought that Muhammad(saw) cannot speak farsi. He said Oh Muhammad. Salman is saying bad things about you!
So Muhammad(saw) replied, “Nay.Rather he is praising me, and saying bad of those kuffar who prevent people from approaching me. “Upon hearing this the yahoodi said Oh Muhammad. Before this I used to have bad thoughts about you. But now I know you as a messenger before Allah(swt). I bear witness that there is no deity besides Allah(swt) and that Muhammad(saw) is the messenger of Allah(swt) Without doubt you are the apostle sent by Allah(swt)
Seerah Halabi (Volume1:Page 186)
After this Muhammad(saw) Entreated Jibreel(alayhis salaam) To teach salmaan a3rabi.
So Jibreel(alayhis salaam) said” Tell Salmaan to close his eyes and open his jaws. “ He did as instructed. So Jibreel put some “saliva” into the mouth of Salmaan(ra). Salman(ra) began to speak Arabic of the highest eloquence.
Seerah Halabi (Volume1:Page 186)
Hazrat Zaid Bin Arqam (RA) And Hazrat Anas(RA) relate that we were passing a street in the company of Rasul(saw) in madeena. There was a tent belonging to a Bedouin there and outside of this tent a deer was tied up . The Bedouin was sleeping nearby on the floor in the sunlight. The deer called on the messenger(saw) 3 times saying Yaa Rasulollah. Muhammad(saw) asked it “What problem afflicts you?”
So the deer said “This Bedouin has captured me and tied me up, whilst I have 2 little offspring that are in such and such mountain in the jungle . Please release me so that I may go and feed them milk, and then return..”
He said(saw)”Will you truly return?”
The deer said “If I do not return , then may Allah(sw) afflict me with a truly tormentuous punishment”
So the deer went away, and gave milk to its children and returned. So Muhammad(saw) tied her back as before. In the meanwhile the Bedouin awoke, and saw Muhammad(saw) and said..what brought you Oh messenger of Allah(saw)
Muhammad(saw) said “Tu-Tw LiQu Haadhihil Dhwabyata”- Release this deer.. so immediately the Bedouin released the deer. In expression of her extreme joy, the deer began running and jumping up and down with great zest and speed. It began to say “Ash-Hadu A’laa ilaaha illlallah Wa annaka la rasoolullah(sallallaho Alayhi Wa salam)

Dalail An Nubuwwa Abu Naeem(Page 360)
Once a camel said to him(saw) " My master is very stingy in feeding me, and yet extracts heavy labour from me". (Abu Dawud)
Muhammad(saw) said" I recognise even the stone that used to greet me before nubuwwah"(Miskhaat)
When the palm tree cried in his absence, it became placid when he put his loving hand onto it and embraced it .And he said he had not done so, it would have cried until yawm al qiyamah
(Kitaab As-shifaa)
Abu Haneefa(rahmatullahi Alayhi) says,
Waladhi``Bu Jaa aka wal ghazaaalatu qad a-tat
Be ka tastajeeru wa tahattamee be hemaalaka
The animals approached you and verified (your messengership)
And the deer entreated your protection when she was imprisoned- and expressed her joy
Wa ka dhal wohoosho a’tat ilayka wa sallamat
Wa shakal Ba3eeru ilayka heena ra-aaka
And similarly the wild animals came and greeted you
And when the camel saw you it came and complained of its state
Wa da awata ashjaaran atatka mutweea3tan
Wa-sa-3at ilayka mujeebatan li-nidaa-aka
And when you called on the trees, they obediently came running
(And testified to your veracity)
Wa alayka zallalatil ghamaamatu feee wa-raaa
Wa Jizz-3u 3an ee-laa kareemi liqaaqa
And the clouds enshrouded you to give shade
And the palm tree cried in your absence
(Qaseedatu-nu3maan)
Qadi Iyadh And Imam suyuti Narrate
That The messenger(saw) sent 6 different companions to various kings in different lands on the same day. Each one of them(without previously learning the language), began to speak the language of the land to which he was sent
Shifaa(Volume 1::Page 208)
Khasais al kubra Volume 2:page 2
So the messenger(saw) could speak to all people, even to trees, animals and stones!!!
Hazrat Abdur rahman Bin Abee Bakr Siddique (Ra) says that hukm bin A3as used to frequent the majlis of the messenger(saw). Whenever Muhammad(saw) used to speak he would mockingly move his jaws in imitation
One day the messenger(saw) said to him “Kun-Ka =-Dhaalik” “KUN”-BE LIKE THAT
As soon as he said Kun. The mans jaw became deviated until the day he died
(Tabarani/Mustadrak/Bayhaqi/Khasais al kubra- Volume2:Page 79)
Salman Bin Akw3a narrates that a man was eating dinner with the messenger(saw) with his left hand.
SO the messenger (saw) said to him eat with your right hand. He said I am unable to do so(in other words my left hand does not move). He made this false claim out of takabbur.
From that day, His left hand remained paralysed and unable to go to his mouth until he died
(Saheeh Muslim/.Miskhat p.536)
Volume 4, Book 52, Number 119: (saheeh Bukhari)
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Once the people of Medina were frightened, so the Prophet rode a horse belonging to Abu Talha and it ran slowly, or was of narrow paces. When he returned, he said, "I found your (i.e. Abu Talha's) horse very fast. After HIS SAYING THIS that the horse could not be surpassed in running”
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) delivered a Khutbah and said, "O people! Hajj (pilgrimage to the House of Allah) has been made incumbent upon you, so perform Hajj.'' A man inquired: "O Messenger of Allah, is it prescribed every year?'' He (PBUH) remained silent till the man repeated it thrice. Then he (PBUH) said, "HAD I REPLIED IN THE AFFIRMATIVE, it would have surely become obligatory…”
