Default What's best: a mixed gender school, a same gender school, Islamic, or home-schooling?

The question's all in the title.
What's the best method of education I should use for my child?
She's nearing the age of entering proper education, so I'd rather decide on it now.
Would it be best to send her to an all-girl's (non-Muslim) school, a Muslim school, a mixed gender school, or should I just home-school her myself?

I've always been wary about sending my children to an Islamic school. There are many horror stories that my fellow sisters have told me about children going astray after entering Islamic schools: meeting up with kids of the opposite gender (bunking off of school to do so!), and trying out a couple of Haraam things they've learnt "just to try it out".

I know I shouldn't believe such stories so easily (mind you, I know of about 4 teenage girls who have done all the above acts), but I just want your inputs. I take my children's education very seriously.

Since your child is a girl i highly recommend homeschooling over Islamic schools. (I've been there so I'm familiar with the stories lol). I'm homeschooled (online) and I've been homeschooled for 2-3 years, before that I was in both public (non-Muslim) and Islamic schools, and I enjoyed homeschooling the best since I can work on my own pace, I have more time to do things I like, and I feel more comfortable. Just make sure that you still do activities with her and take her out and stuff so she doesn't feel too lonely. But nonetheless, homeschooling is the best option. The all-girl school would be good but you stated that its non-Muslim and sometimes the girls can influence each other, so thats not a great idea.

Depends what you mean by Islamic school; is she going to become an aalimah? If so, probably the best option.

Otherwise homeschooling is the only way forward. Please listen to all the lectures relating to family on this site

If you want more, I can dig some up. Homeschooling has been proven to increase performance in exams, homeschooled children volunteer more, commit less crimes and show greater confidence generally in their lives and have greater interests and hobbies

Make sure there is no TV in the house. Encourage them to read books and lead by example by implementing the sunnah in your own life

I tell people either send your kids to become scholars in a Dar ul Uloom, or homeschool them. Or don't have kids at all

    Asalamualaikum,
in my limited experience islamic schools are good till primary level , This is because mostly religious minded parents who have cared for their childrens upbringing thoughtfully send their children to islamic schools. At high school level you get a another set of parents bringing their children . These are usually not so deeni minded so they'll have tv's and other bad influences in they're lives , the prime concern for these parents is to save they're children from the boyfriend girlfriend type of fitnah. these children usually are causes of concern.
Homeschooling is best, but it must be done efficiently

I agree homeschooling is the best method bcuz it keeps the kids away from the fitnah but sometimes if the Islamic school is seperated (boys alone and girls alone) then I think its best for the boy to go to it or even if its Islamic (mixed) but they have stricted rules and I know its kind of rare but there are schools like that out there.

But its always good to have kids because you increase the Muslims even though they may seem lost in some period of their life Inshallah (mostly) when they grow up they learn from their mistakes and strive forward.
