    Talking It happened

Well, finally, it happened to me too. I joined a company as a consultant and my "first impression" was bad. The lady at the reception came to shake hands with me. I placed mine on the chest and apologized saying "Sorry I'm muslim so I don't shake, but you have my respects".

A week later, the "Muslim" from the company took me out for a lunch and told me that they were "worried" about my action of not shaking hands, and tried to argue with me over "Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi"'s Fatoowa. I told him that his dalail had no basis and seems he just wanted to be apologetic. Oh well.... It happened. But insha'Allah, it's not going to change , three things I won't compromise on 1) my beard 2) salah, 3) physical contact with the opposite gender.

I've told him that for a few dollars I won't change my religious views, and for that, if they're not satisfied , they have their three months to decide whether to keep me or not. So I request all brothers and sisters make dua for me. It's at time like this when I recall Hazrat-e-Wala Maulana Shah Hakeem AKhtar Sahib's (Damat Barakatuhu) advice to me " Us murghi say jis say eemaan jata ho, woh daal behtar hay keh jis say eeman bachta ho " [ The millet that saves your Faith is better than eating the chicken that destroys it ]. So insha'Allah, if these things don't work out, I'll head back to Hazrat's Suhbat. Just make dua for me. I didn't come here to make money for myself, but it seems there's no barakah in the money in the west, let it be for any purpose.

may Allah bless you, Inshallah everyone learns a lesson from your story: that we shouldn't worry ourselves with what people think, we should put our religion in front of everything, and I hope you don't get fired lol, I'm making dua for you bro. A lot of people try to twist the rules of Islam so it pleases everyone, and that's very sad and embarrassing

I don't know what the big deal is and why they're buggin'. It's your religious right not to shake hands of the opposite gender. Done deal. that you're standing your ground but if things take a wrong turn, then along the lines of what our brother verdana said before:

Allaah shall create and escape (from difficulties) for the one who fears (disobeying) Allaah (one who has Taqwa)...and shall provide for him (what he requires) from sources that he never expected (to receive provisions from). Allaah is Sufficient (to solve all problems) for the one who trusts in Him (who is convinced that only Allah can assist him). (Allaah can certainly solve any problem a person has because) Allaah certainly brings (all) His affairs to completion (as He wills) and Allaah has set a measure for everything (therefor, things happen when He decides). (A person who trusts in Allaah knows that Allaah will solve his problems when Allaah decides that the time is right.)

Yes, its common girls coming to shake hand. I just say them, "It's not acceptable in my culture to shake hand with women"

    They ask why ?

Answer is " Our culture respects the women, and we are not allowed to shake hand because, if we touch the hand of a women, then we may think something ill, it;s an instinct in men, so our religion doesn't want men to think even ill about women"

    Brother Usman,

I love your muhabbah for the deen-may Allah(swt) increase you in it.

    Ameen

However shaytaan maybe saving us from the gunah of shaking the hand of the female and instead busying us in the guna in biting the flesh of an aalim
    for a wronhg ijtihad......

Our ulema were mu'tadil they didnt get too personal (read qari tayyib's adab with the barelwis----i mean they made takfeer of his father !Subhanallah.
He stood up out of ikram for them etc! Ajeeb)

Also mufti taqi uthmani writes about shaykh qardawi but not in the manner than you write- and mufti taqi sahib is not a simple village aalim...

Still no way to be talking about any scholar. you can disagree & show your dislike but you whent too far, as mentioned it means murtad, mubtadi.

anyway nice of you to handle things like a man. a woman came to shake the hand of habib Ali Aljifri, what he said to her melted her heart.
she thought these arabs even when they soft still think they better than woman so he said to her I love my wife & if i touched the hands of another lady I would not be true to her.

    Assalam,

I salute your courage brother and may Allah SWT make it easy for other Muslim brothers and Sisters to follow suit.

It seems there is some respect for Religious view in the West, sometimes ago I read in the daily news paper where an Indu guy was sacked for refusing to remove his turban for an emlet of the fire fighter, the lad sued them to court and won, the judge said it is his religious belief and has to be respected. the guy returned to work and the picture shown on the paper placing the emlet on the turban while putting on the uniform....

Place your trust in Allah SWT because He is the Al-gonniy but fight for your right if its about to be abused.

    Walahu alam.

    Salvation through Repentance??
Make a sincere Taubah unto your Rubb, Allah (Azzawajall) does not count on the quantity of Repentance but the quality....!!!
