Well, finally, it happened to me too. I joined a company as a consultant and my "first impression" was bad. The lady at the reception came to shake hands with me. I placed mine on the chest and apologized saying "Sorry I'm muslim so I don't shake, but you have my respects".

A week later, the "Muslim" from the company took me out for a lunch and told me that they were "worried" about my action of not shaking hands, and tried to argue with me over "Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi"'s Fatoowa. I told him that his dalail had no basis and seems he just wanted to be apologetic. Oh well.... It happened. But insha'Allah, it's not going to change , three things I won't compromise on 1) my beard 2) salah, 3) physical contact with the opposite gender.

I've told him that for a few dollars I won't change my religious views, and for that, if they're not satisfied , they have their three months to decide whether to keep me or not. So I request all brothers and sisters make dua for me. It's at time like this when I recall Hazrat-e-Wala Maulana Shah Hakeem AKhtar Sahib's (Damat Barakatuhu) advice to me " Us murghi say jis say eemaan jata ho, woh daal behtar hay keh jis say eeman bachta ho " [ The millet that saves your Faith is better than eating the chicken that destroys it ]. So insha'Allah, if these things don't work out, I'll head back to Hazrat's Suhbat. Just make dua for me. I didn't come here to make money for myself, but it seems there's no barakah in the money in the west, let it be for any purpose.
