    Default Islamic Bookstore

    Assalaam u Alikum,

I am in process of opening a Islamic bookstore online, however I don't want to keep all the books available in the market. I want to sell only authenticated publishers and authors on my website.

I have already done a lot of homework and selected some publishers however it will be really helpful if you guys suggest me which publishers to carry and which to avoid. Also it will be really helpful if each one of you provide me list of top 5 or top 10 books of your choice that you highly recommend me to keep in my book store.

Also, I understand that Dar-ul-Salaam has few questionable publications, if you guys can point out which titles to stay away from.

    JazakAllah,

    MeccaBooks

    Turath

    White Thread Press

    ZamZam

    Idarat

I can't remember some of the other good publishers' names, but there are definitely more.

As for Dar us-Salam, I would recommend not carrying any of their books, because (1) most, if not all, are either Salafi specific books, or books that are published by other companies as well, and (2) a person may see the publisher and come to trust them, thereby opening them up to the more questionable material.

For the wholesale Islamic Arabic books, you'll probably have to get the books directly from the publisher. There are bookstores here in the US which sell Arabic books, but I doubt they'd tell you what their sources are.

By the way, there's a problem with the links on the bottom of the page. They all direct back to the home page.

Local would depend on your location, wouldn't it?

Anyways, you're probably better off making deals with the publishers themselves, that way you could cut out the middle man and perhaps save some money (and hopefully pass it on the customers!).
