In my case it was because, being a soldier, I saw Muslims being killed, imprisoned, and otherwise disrespected and I began to wonder why we hated them so much. That led me to investigate Islam for myself and I fell in love with the certainty it gave me in life and about what comes after.

I admit that I'm not a very good Muslim (I miss prayers all the time) but I do try to improve and I love Islam for accepting me in spite of my shortcomings as a human being.

I am also fom a military back ground. Great to hear that you have also been guided to the Truth. Just a word of advise for future reference, in Islaam we do not openly admit our sins to others. Allaah (SWT) hides the sins of the mumin from others. May Allaah (SWT) grant you the best of health and imaan.

Most reverts I know cannot give a simple 'reason' because it cannot describe the long spiritual journey that they took to Allah.

    Assalaamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

I will explain my reasons in brief. I had a dream of Isa(as) in January 2008 in which when I went to bed the night before, I was a hammerskin which is an elite neo-nazi skinhead. When I awoke, I felt like I had been turned inside out...that was a friday night. On Saturday night, I had another dream. It wasnt until July 2008 that I converted to Islam. I am the first and only muslim in my entire family genealogy and the first and only to muslim to live where I do. I have gone through ups and downs since. I was a salafi until Itikaaf of Ramadan 2010 when in a dream I knew I needed to follow a madhab in which I chose Hanafi/Deoband/Maturidiyya. Hope you like this brief explanation

Cool! I am subscribed to both of your channels.

But anyway, good to have you here. Try to be more active in other threads too.

At the cost of repeating myself I shall again say that each and every piece on this thread is exquisitely crafted.

And like dr76 I too feel completely humbled. Thank you immensely brothers and sisters. Not only you have made my day but these things are so precious that they always remain close to your heart. A servant of Allah (SWT) stumbling towards his Lord Most High. Even in these sophisticated times this is one faltering journey that is most fascinating.

For me it seems like everything "clicks", but I wonder what different reasons people might have.
    Akhi (brother) Peakur,
    Have you said your Shahadah?
If not then please do so soon.
