    Default Online classes

    Assalamu alaykum

    I was wondering what are your opinions about online classes. In my opinion I have seen many many reverts who are going to online classes (mashAllah) but this deters them from going to the masjid and finding a good scholar, the same can be said for "raised" muslims. I have also seen uneducated people give classes which is worrying. Obviously there are classes that are taught by Ulema but from what I have seen most reverts (as I am a revert most of the people I know are reverts) are "studying" online.
    What are your opinions?

    Sister;

    As a sister who takes online classes I've found them to be nothing but a blessing .

    I live in a city in the U.S. which has many masajid but few(if any) actual scholars that I know of.
    There aren't many classes for sisters beyond basic Arabic and teaching how to make Salah. Even those are either at a time and in a place I'm not able to attend or outrageously priced.

    Naturally, I would prefer to attend lessons in person and have a Sheikh that I could follow and go to for help and guidance. But I don't know where to find that where I am even though I've looked and asked around.

    Personally, I wouldn't say that online lessons deters people from seeking guidance at the masjid. For most people I know, they went to the masjid first but settled for online lessons when they couldn't find what they were looking for in their area.
