Al-Salam institute is honoured to present this inspirational two-day, weekend course on the detailed Tafsir [commentary] of Surah Yusuf and Surah Nur; an excellent preparation for Ramadan. Shaykh Mohammad Akram Nadwi will be exploring the beautiful story of Yusuf and his brothers, and the many practical lessons to be learnt. From the verses of surah Nur he will be elaborating the importance of Islamic Law.

From the unique unbroken narrative of Surah Yusuf you will discover many lessons, from the consequences of sibling rivalry in childhood to the means of withstanding temptation in adulthood and bearing great roles of authority. This is a Surah saturated with lessons of patience, wisdom and forgiveness against jealousy, dishonesty and unlawful desires.

From Surah Nur you will learn about the wisdom behind the Shariah laws and the ethics of living in civilised society. It will explore the benefits of marriage and the consequences of fornication and wrongly accusing chaste women. You will discover how Allah revealed the innocence of Aisha and learn about the beliefs of those who deny her lofty status.

A good comprehension of these two chapters of the glorious Quran will provide you with timeless remedies for purification of the soul and solutions to many of the social illnesses that are rife in today’s society. It will equip students to face the trials of life and provide clear guidance on how to attain success in this world and the hereafter. An excellent and essential course as we approach the blessed month of Ramadan.

Please note that the tafsir course date has been changed to the 2nd and 3rd of july. This is primarily due to a number of requests made by students to change the tafisr course date from 4th and 5th june due to it coinciding with the university exam period.

Free Accomodation for registered students -
We can now confirm that we will be providing FREE accommondation on the night of Saturday 2nd July ( for the tafsir course) and the night of Saturday 23rd July (for the Hadith course). We can also arrange accomondation the night before all three of our courses depending on demand. The place is limited to 30 brothers & sisters and will be available on first come first serve basis. Shaykh Akram will also be present at the accommondation & there will hopefully be a brief advice session delivered by Shaykh Akram Nadwi inshallah. Further details will be available upon complete registration.
