    Default Ulamah of Kandlah

    Assalamualaikum

I am currently writing up a treatise on the history and the legacy of the Ulamah whose origins lie in the village of Khandlah. I am referring to many works in Arabic, Urdu and also English. I have been able to go right back to the scholar Mufti Ilahi Baksh (student of shah abdul azeez dehlawi). I am also attempting to link each scholar with the next, something which i found to be a distinguishing feature of the scholars from this village. I am in the process of collecting names and have collected approximately 25 names of scholars past and present. I was wandering if anyone could help me find names and biographies of scholars that are not found in the books. I am referring to over 20 books in all 3 languages. There is a work that has already been done in this subject in urdu by Maulana Ihtishaam Al Hasan called 'Ahwal Mashaaikh Khandlah' which i am finding very difficult to locate, and it is imperitive that i have that book. Please could somebody find it for me as a PDF or if somebody has a copy and is in the UK if they could lend it to me. If anyone has any suggestions for any other books in which i would be able to find this information then please let me know. I am also looking for present day scholars from khandlah or those to have passed away recently and were not very famous or their biographies were not written e.g Maulana Izharul Hasan who was the shaykhul hadeeth at nizamudeen. (i am not 100 percent sure if he was from khandlah and was hoping if somebody could confirm that).

Jazakallah Khairan May Allah reward us all and grant us sincerity in all that we do.

This is a very interesting topic..

Mawlana Izhar al-Hasan sahib was Kandhalwi, yes.

Have you heard of Mawlana Iftikhar al-Hasan Kandhalwi sahib? He's a khalifa of Mawlana Abdul Qadir Raipuri sahib I believe and still alive..

    (1) As brother inbummabd has done, we should also write Kandhlah and not Khandlah.
    (2) Have you traveled to the place? Recently a book on Maulana Mumlook-ul-Ali (RA) appeared. The author, I think, is from Kandhlah. It should be beneficial to you because the compiler as personal letters of the old time greats in his family collection. I also wonder who shall be making PDFs of those books that only scholars require. Some day life might be that easy but at the moment I doubt that it is so. But please do not get discouraged by my words-I am just taking stock of the situation.
    Wassalam

    Assalamualaikum

Jazakallah Khairan to all for the feedback it has really helped. I will write Kandhlah from now on. I recently read somewhere that Shaykh Uwais Nadwi had the opportunity of meeting Mawlana Nur al-Hasan in Kandhla. Anyone have any info on him? Jazakallah to inbummabd for confirming the origin of Maulana Izharul Hasan. does anybody have any info on him. such as where he studied and who his teachers were. Anybody else out there that could help me? your comments and suggestions have really helped so far. i want to take as much info as possible from all before i begin writing up the Risalah. I need your help all! I am currently in the final year of the Aalimyah course at Jameah Uloomul Quran in Leicester and will be finishing in July inshaAllah. After that i will hopefully have more time with writing it up. I am doing as much research as possible till then. Your comments and suggestions are vital to my work.

In "Nuqoosh-e-Raftigaan" by Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani [HA], he wrote also on Maulana Muhammad Malik Kandhalvi [RH] besides Shaykh al-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhalvi [RH]. And in "Chand 'Azeem Shakhsiyaat" his father Mufti Muhammad Shafi' [RH] has written about Maulana Muhammad Idris Kandhalvi [RH]. Both these books should be easily available in the UK.

Jazakallah True Life. Alhumdulillah i have looked through those works. The work by Maulana Ihtishaamul Hasan is called 'Halaat e Mashaaikh e Kandlah'.
Anyone know why many of the scholars name had 'Al Hasan' in their names? such as:
    Maulana Inamul Hasan
    Maulana Ihishaamul Hasan
    Maulana Zubairul Hasan
    Maulana Izhaarul Hasan
    Maulana Iftikhaarul Hasan
    etc

This year a book called Pas-e-Marg Zinda by Maulana Noor Alam Khalil Amini of Dar-ul-Uloom, Deoband has come out. It talks about recently departed greats of Islamic thought. There should be some Kandhalwis in that too. From Deoband again there has come out a book called Khuda Rahmat Kunad by Maulana Nadeem-ul-Wajidi with the same theme.

Doctor Sahab, have you met Maulana Saad in personal? If yes, how was the experience? I am perhaps his biggest fan/follower alive!
