India: How Many of you or yours relatives get selected in Qurrah list of Haj -2011

Yesterday there was a result of Qurrah(in haj -2011) in Ap,India, my parents is provisionally selected and they will be doing Haj this year. Pray for them. Anyone of you are selected or going privately?

Just like every person you shake hands with is not a friend, every haj applicant does not become a haji...there is a quota and the names are decided through lucky draw, dunno if this still happens in pakistan though I think its open for all now, it used to in the olden days....

Still goes on in India. As a matter of fact, two of my wife's uncles and some of their relatives have been chosen in the first Qurra for the next Hajj.

The Saudi government gives a fixed quota to every country every year. Since the number of applicants are invariably more than the quota, the qurra is resorted to. There is a great deal of cheating though. The Hajj committee is exceedingly corrupt...typically Muslim.
