Because I've watched Sheikh as-Sudais' prayer, and I noticed that he didn't recite bismillahirrahmanirrahim in the al-Fatihah. He just straight away starts with alhamdulillahirabbilalamin.
According to Shafi'i, reciting bismillahirrahmanirrahim in the al-Fatihah is wajib as it is one of the ayats; and if you don't recite it, your prayer will be invalid.
This is based on al-Qur'an, sura al-Hijr, verse 18:
And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an.
And the "seven of the often repeated" mentioned here is the total verses al-Fatihah.
So, is my prayer valid if I pray behind Sheikh as-Sudais or any Hanbali?
