I know on this site the Naqsbandhi and Sheikh Nazim are not thought of highly by the majority (am i allowed to say that no offence intended to anyone).
My question is .. which sufi sheikh is thought of highly?

Depends which Naqshbandi. Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi saheb Daamat Barakaatuhum is well thought of. He is from the Naqshbandi Mujaddidi tareeqa. www.tasawwuf.org is a site dedicated to his teaching.

Has anyone heard of Shiekh Taner Ansari?

If one was to compile a list of Shuyukh thought of as reputable, There is bound to be a name or two on that list which others on the forum would disagree with.

Sidi Seeker compiled a beutiful list in my oppinion, but there are a few names on there that people would take exception to.

On this particular forum, the only list that will most likely receive unanimous praise will be comprised of Sheikhs who studied or teach or taught at Dar al Uloom Deoband. The best thing to do is take a look at both sets of lists, research the various positions of the Shuyukh on those lists and decide for yourself.

Yes, I meet him. His teaching nothing to do with Islam. There is also some evidence of his wrong teaching. I warn you and others to beware of his teaching.

Whoever you have congeniality with and benefit from, he is thought of highly.
