Inshaa Allah recently concluded census may give a near to correct population of muslims in India. Reason, many NGOs have volunteered to assist the muslims to fill the census papers and also curb the dirty tricks by anti-muslim.

Let us hope that the present government at the centre stays till all these process is over. They are honest in this part.

The figure of nearly 150 million is something like official figure from last to last census. If I can trust my past experience about matters related to Muslims then the unofficial figure will be more closer to truth. It is difficult to quote such figures because the do not carry the stamp. This itself should be taken as a tragedy. And you have given correct information about economic situation of Muslims in general. The Sachar Committee Report asserts that Muslims by now are worse off than Dalits. This is a tragedy of gigantic proportions. And yes Muslims have not figured out how to use the democratic process to their advantage. The things that (late) Kanshi Ram and Mayawati have managed between two of them is amazing but on our part we can only look at them with foolish amazement.

Brother Maripat our numbers maybe many lets say even 300 million but we are like the rubbish of the sea. Apart from hyderabad and a few other Muslim dominated areas we face discrimination at all levels. We face massive discrimination. We are denied education and all the opportunities that our fellow hindu citizens have. I remember a friend of mine from the UK went to Gujrat and got into some fight with some hindus (completely not his own fault) and he beat up the hindus. His family had to go into hiding. We face systematic abuse. The area where the explosives were smuggled by Dawood ibrahim for the Mumbai bomb blasts (some area in the kokan region) that particular area the male members still have to sign in each week at the police station. The world has been fooled by the talk of india being the world's largest democracy. It is a big joke. Indian Muslims are too scared to express their viewpoints and to demand their rights. I am very worried about the future of indian muslims. Hindu extremism and intolerence is on the rise. The situation does not look good but still if our indian muslims insist on being blind what can be done?
