Moulana Yunus Patel has passed away in Makkah Mukarramah

what a terrible shock..how heart breaking..one of my friends emailed sheikh few days back he'd replied her and also told he cannot go into detail because he is in medina..we were speechless when we heard about his death.sbahanalah just imagine dying in front of baytullah what a ni'mah..may allah grant him the highest ranks in jannatul firdous..his soul though no more, his teachings will remain in the ummah and he'll be getting continuous sawaab for all what he's left behind-he left behind nothing but the meerath of the anbiya- allahu akbar!

can someone confirm when Maulana passed away? monday evening or tuesday evening? and the namaaz e janazah was after tuesday fajr or wednesday fajr?

Hadhrat Mawlana rahimahullah passed away tuesday evening, after Maghrib Salaah, and Salaat al-Janazah was today (wednesday) morning after Salaat al-Fajr.

I was in Haram, attending Maulana Makki's daily Qur'an dars when the news broke. About 15 minutes before Isha azaan, three of Maulana Yunus Patel's family members came and informed Maulana Makki about it. He immediately stopped his dars, told all of us to make du'a for a well-known scholar of India who is in hospital right now and then stormed off. It was only after I reached home when I found out that Maulana Yunus Patel had passed away.

Also if I might add, I don't think Sheikh Shuraym leading the funeral prayer of Maulana Yunus Patel was a coincidence. I had heard more than once from different sources that Sheikh Shuraym and Maulana Yunus Patel knew each other very well.

It was Sister sudoku who guided me to Hadhrats website. When I emailed Maulana, it said on the website that expect a reply in 3 days. After 1 day, I got the reply. It was written in detail, I was shocked that such a person had taken time to reply and Maulana had answered all my questions.

It was from then onwards, I didnt let go this connection. I always felt guilty on being a burden on Hadrath but he would re assure me.

JazakAllah khair Sister Sudoku for connecting me to Hadhrat.

Admittingly, I feel a bit orphan like. A very blessed hand is taken off our heads couldnt stop crying last night

I think one of the reasons he was so maqbool was that he always made time for people. I think many people were often surprised that a well known Shaykh and someone so busy, with so many mureeeds would take out time to answer each and every query so promptly.

That is definitely true. Most people mentioned how quickly he replies to emails, something which I myself was shocked by, considering I usually wait for months for a reply from others.

And on a side note, JazakAllahu Khair to Sister Sudoku...if it was not for your frequent mention of Maulana Sahib I would never have known him nor would I have ever been able to benefit from his wisdom.

To all those people who benefited from Sheikh Yunus Patel.
The 'ulama write, give proofs, and explain many matters....and they also say:

" لا دليل اقوى من المشاهدة "
There is no daleel (evidence) stronger than what is witnessed.

We have never met the Shaykh, or listened to his lectures in detail, but we attested to his piety (before he passed) through people's testimonies that they were benefitting from him...we even advised certain people to contact him or listen to his lectures.

His passing is another daleel to his piety and rank.

We encourage all the people who have benefited from him to use him as a daleel to the importance and truth of tasawwuf and attachment to the mashaikh and to continue with such attachment and encourage others for the same.

We send our ta'ziyya to his family, to the 'ulama, and to his mureeds/lovers.

It was really a shocking news! I came to know about this after returning from Fajr Salaah, when i read the message on my cell phone.. uff !! Cant describe the grief i felt !!

I recently had the opportunity to hear a part of his bayaan live when he visited Karachi about 6-7 months back.. Having heard much about the shaykh, i was expecting a person of great looking personality etc but was quite surprised to see a very simple looking shaykh sitting on the mimbar! This inspired me a lot and reminded me of Mufti Taqi Usmani shb d.b. (who too exhibits a very simple personality).. I was wishing to benefit from him, further, when he will pay his next visit to Karachi but.. Whatever Allah Wills! However i do thank Allah that he granted the opportunity, to a sinner like me, to sit in his majlis atleast once!

His manner of passing away is truly Qaabile-e-Rashk! May Allah grant him place in Jannat al-Firdaws. Ameen!

As for our respectable sister, sduko, i can feel the pain she must be feeling. May Allah grant her Sabr. May Allah enable us all to follow the teachings and footsteps of the Hazrat since this is the actual Adab of a Shaykh. Ameen!

Narrated Sayyidina 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al' As (RA): I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "Allah does not take away the knowledge, by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the (religious learned men) remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray." [Bukhari]
