I discussed it a long time ago that to the best of my knowledge and understanding Behishti Zewar is not written by Shaykh (Maulana) Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA) but it was given to him by someone and they insisted on dedicating and attributing the book to Shaykh (RA), which he acknowledged in his lifetime.
It wasnít even written by the person mentioned above, it was written by a Munshi Saheb (RA) who to this day remains anonymous because he wanted to lose his name and dedicate and ascribe to Shaykh (Maulana) Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA)
Whatís the problem with that?

Hadhrat Munshi Saheb of Inanda was a Khalifah of Hadhrat Maulana Muhammad Masihullah Khaan (rahmatullah alayh)
Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahimahull‚h) said: "Stick to the narrations and the way of the salaf, and beware of the newly invented matters for all of it is innovation" (Sawnul Muntaq of as-Suyuti pg.32)
