i am asking this on behalf of a brother.
did Abu Bakr may Allah be pleased with him give Ijazah/Bayah to Salman al Farsi may Allah be pleased with him?
what are the basis for such a chain/silsilah?

I am also curious about the relation between Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiqand Sayyidina Salman al-Farsi
. On which basis do the chains proceed from the first Khalifah with the latter in particular?

Actually brother, you need to understand the concept of Shaikh and the concept of Bay't.
The concept of Bay'ah is to make Tobah at the hands of the Shaikh. It is a pledge of Tobah. Bay't e Tobah.
The concept of Suhbah of Shaikh is derived from the Ayah, وكونوا مع الصادقين
Now let us understand that Hazrat Abu Bakrdid Tobah (bayt) on the hands of Rasool Allah صلي الله عليه وسلم. Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه attained the level of Nisbat e Ittihaadi with Rasool Allah صلي الله عليه وسلم due to excessive companionship with him (suhbah). He was totally colored with the colors of Rasool Allah
. This is called Nisbat e Ittihadi. That you become one with your Shaikh in the sense that you follow him in everything.
So after Rasool Allah, sahaba turned towards other Sahaba for Masaail, advices, Islah and other things. Hazrat Salman Farsi
didn't do a Bayt of Tobah at the hands of Hazrat Abu Bakr
cause he had already done it on the hands of Rasool Allah
. Instead he had given Bayt of Khailafah to him. And he stayed in his company. Hazrat Abu Bakr
did not give Ijazah for making mureeds to him because Sahaba didn't need any Ijazah. All of them were Sadiqeen and they sat in company of Elder Sahaba.
But as time passed, proper Ijazahs were given due to the fact that not everyone was qualified to cure your spiritual diseases. The mureed stayed with Shaikh for a long time. The shaikh would first purify (tazkiyah) the mureeds batin. Then he would see, If the mureed had the qualities of Guiding other people and purifying them, the Shaikh would give Ijazah to him for doing so. It is just like how a medical doctor has to do practice with an experienced doctor before he can open up his own Clinic.
Please ask if you didn't understand it.
