Earning Haram income , without knowing ?

can you please help me with a problem

i am a internet marketer and i sell websites online as a job.

a while ago i sold many websites but i kinda lied about them saying they made $350 in profit in 3 days when they didnt . i dont know if the customers bought the website based on this lie.

i didnt know i was lieing , basically i didnt know i was doing haram

now that i realize i let go of that source but the money i genereated from it , i used it to invest in halal websites and made halal income off it .

i dont know if there is any haram income left , becuase i used most of it to invest in halal income.

My question is how can i purify my money ?

can i give away the haram investment money in charity and keep the halal money i earned of it .?

Please note i didnt know i was lieing about my products at that time , now that i realize i want to get rid of all haram money , but its kinda mixed up so please tell me what i can do

why dont you tell them what you did and ask for forgiveness and give them something back to make up for it even if you have to give the full money back. if someone lied to me to sell me something then i would get very angry about that and so would you. imagine if you bought a car and the seller told you the engine is perfect and you buy it on that basis but then you later find out that the engine is in fact damaged.

out of interest, why did you not know you were lying when you made up false figures?

i wasnt lying in my head, the website was infact capable of making that much money , but i didnt push it to that extent. I was basically saying it is able to make that much figures, i gave back the money to the people who i could , i even shut down that site . i still have so money left that i dont know where its from :S can i just give half of it in charity with the intention of purify my wealth.


it was like saying a car can go 200mph but i personally didnt test it out < -- i was telling the capabilities of that website

yes, if they worked hard enought , its like saying im selling a car that can do 250mph but i personally didnt take it that far , if the buyers wants he can drive it that fast if he can .

Its just that i didnt state that i didnt make that much, but its actually possible
