    Default Headaches!

I have memorized a large portion of the Qur'an but I get headaches after going over what I've memorized. This is not because of Ramadan because it happens out of it also. This didn't used to happen before when I had less Qur'an memorized. Does this happen to anyone else?

You can read "surah fatihah 7 times" and then blow on your hands and rub you head.
    Also read this ayah: لَا يُصَدَّعُوْنَ عَنْهَا وَ لَا يُنْزِفُوْنَ continiously.
It could be from the black eye, Ulema recommend anyone who's becomming a hafiz or alim to read manzil everyday. Heres a link to the book: (its very small, doesnt even take 5 minutes)

All of these are very effective.

but please don't let this stop you from continuing your memorization, Shayatan will try anything to stop you.

Shaytaan always tries to steer us away from the straight path. Say "I seek refuge from the cursed Shaytaan" and send him running! May Allah (SWT) make it easy for you.

    Salam Akhi.

Actually there is an hadith about this, the prophet always told this, when people had headache. I can find the hadith for you, if you wish?

    This is from Sahih Bukhari:

Narrated Al-Qasim bin Muhammad: 'Aisha, (complaining of headache) said, "Oh, my head"! Allah's Apostle said, "I wish that had happened while I was still living, for then I would ask Allah's Forgiveness for you and invoke Allah for you." Aisha said, "Wa thuklayah! By Allah, I think you want me to die; and If this should happen, you would spend the last part of the day sleeping with one of your wives!" The Prophet said, "Nay, I should say, 'Oh my head!' I felt like sending for Abu Bakr and his son, and appoint him as my successor lest some people claimed something or some others wished something, but then I said (to myself), 'Allah would not allow it to be otherwise, and the Muslims would prevent it to be otherwise".

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet was cupped on his head for an ailment he was suffering from while he was in a state of Ihram. at a water place called Lahl Jamal. Ibn 'Abbas further said: Allah s Apostle was cupped on his head for unilateral headache while he was in a state of Ihram .

This one is from Abu Dawood. Probably the best one to explain headache.

Narrated Salmah: the maid-servant of the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him), said: No one complained to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) of a headache but he told him to get himself cupped, or of a pain in his legs but he told him to dye them with henna.

If you can not get cupped (I honestly never heard about it) then repent to Allah, for mercy.

    JazakAllahu Khairun.

This is a physical ailment not spiritual. Take breaks in between of 10 minutes to let your brain cool down, it will help.

Most generous of mankind, I have no one to take refuge in,
Except you at the occurrence of widespread calamity.

Hazrat Salma r.a, the servant of the Messenger s.a.w said, "Whenever someone would complain of a headache to the Messenger of Allah s.a.w, he s.a.w would advise them to perform hijamah (cupping)." [Saheeh Sunan abi Dawud (3858)].
“Indeed the best of remedies you have is al-hijamah (cupping)" [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5371)].

How does one do cupping? How do you post threads I am new and cant figure it out.
Well cupping is more of physical, headaches you don't really control, take some pills or relax or take a shower, etc. You can make dua I think it will help

Read couple of books byt Dr asad or by Maukana Abu Umar on hijamah. It is really beneficial (medically proven)
