Default New to the Hanafi Madhab

as salam 'alaykoum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh

i'm from france, recently turned to islam for about a year and a half wa lillahi al hamdou

i've started by learning about my 'aqida and try to find the "middle ground" (not sure about my trad) i mean the wasat

but after that,i understood the importance of following the prophete alayhi salat wa salam with a madhab , according to the fact that every 'ulema follow one, and that i never seen a 'alim telling it was not yajouz to follow one instead of what I use to hear from my french salafis brothers

so I want to "be" hanafi , but as i'm living in france it seems hard to learn more about my madhab, I have a book from al imam shurunbulali : noor al idah , but it is not enough for basic i mean to perfect my salat and woudou for example

for my salat i saw this vid:

i now pray like this, but is that right ?

i will be back in cha Allah cause I have more questions and details I want to know about...

    hayakumullah
allahu yataqabbal siyyamana wa qiyyamana in cha Allah wa barakallahufikoum!

    السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

i ' ll try to be more exact in cha Allah ta'ala

    about prayer :

    - do hanafis raise their hands while getting up from rookoo' ?
    - do we raise are hands to the ears while getting from soojood ? or only after the first tachahood (in 3 or 4 rakaat prayers)
    - do we sit in tawarook position for final tachahood or not ?
    - during salat jama'at, do we stick our ankles, do we juste stick the side of our feets or do we don't stick our feets together at all ? ( i mean with the your right and lef brothers )

    about tahara(purification) :

    - do we wash our mouth and nose at the same time 3x (as a hadith said it wAllah a3lam) or do we wash our mouth 3times and then our nose 3times
    - do we wash our feets 3 times or juste one time each ?
and is it wajib or sunnah to wash each part 3 times (i know it's sunnah but how : mooakkada or moostahab ?)

    about beard :

what is exactly the madhab view on beard ? long as I know it is haram to cut it even a little bit for hanafis, but is it a ijma3 ? (i dont want to cut mine anyway)

Wa Alaikum as-Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh and welcome to the forum!

This forum is full of many knowledgeable brothers and sisters as well as real scholars. Answers to some of your questions are also found in Noorul Izah.

No. There is only ONE time raising of the hands, and that is at the beginning of salah.

    - do we raise our hands to the ears while getting from soojood ? or only after the first tachahood (in 3 or 4 rakaat prayers)
No. Raising hands is only once; at the beginning of salat, i.e at first Takbir. Rest of the takbirs inside salah are performed without raising your hands.

    - do we sit in tawarook position for final tachahood or not ?
What do you mean by tawarook position?

    - do we wash our mouth and nose at the same time 3x (as a hadith said it wAllah a3lam) or do we wash our mouth 3times and then our nose 3times
Second one. First we wash mouth 3 times, then nose 3 times.

Once again welcome to the forum. May Allah make you steadfast in the Deen. Amin!

No, we sit in Iftirash style for every sitting, never Tawarook.

It is Obligatory (wajib) to grow the beard and Makruh Tahrim (prohibitively disliked (not allowed)) to cut it to less than 1 fist length.

    wa iyyak

If are comfortable reading books in English I highly recommend purchasing a copy of Bahishti Zewar for Men by Maulana Ashraf 'Ali Thanvi. It is a very comprehensive view of everything a layman needs to know in Hanafi Fiqh.

No, you do not join the feet or ankles. You stand in your normal standing stance - most people have a gap of about four fingers between the feet, with your feet pointing towards the qiblah.

What you do join are the shoulders.

    Mon frere.

Alhamdulillah you found the right path and the right forum!
I live in Italy where the situation is similar to France, so I can see what you mean regarding the difficulty to find authentic resources according to the four schools..

That's the main reason for us to set up the Euro-Sunni project, under which we are running a serie of free on-line Hanafi Fiqh lessons in English language (to be resumed the next week insha'Allah), which I hope will help you in learing the basics of Fiqh according to the Hanafi Madhhab.

Stay tuned and don't be shy to ask any other question.

as salam 'alaykoum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

jazakoom Allah khayren wa Allah yoobareek lakoom jami3an , il fratello 'Umar, Arif2 wa 'abd al Wahhab

i will try to get this book in cha Allah

here some other questions bismillah :

    - after finishing the first raka'a , do we sit in iftirash position for a while as a hadith says it or do we get up immediately ?

    - when doing tachahood, do we stare at the ground or at our right hand or elsewhre? ,i mean before and after chahada (we stare at our finger at that time)

    - i have read in Noor Al Idah that it is makrooh to close our eyes while praying, does it also concern soojood ? and when you try to concentrate ?

    - in soojood position, is it makrooh or not to spread fingers a little bit ?

that's all for today in cha Allah , may Allah bless you

    allahoo yoojazikoom bi kheyr

as salam 'alaykoum wa rahmatoullah wa barakatouh
