I want to have a holiday like this.

Assalam Alaykum,
We went to south wales for a week in June/ July using http://www.preseliview.com/ there arent any places to pick up halal food locally there but all the major supermarkets are not too far away so you can pick up ingredients for easy non meat meals. The beaches were rather quiet as well because we went just before the summer break so it was good for the whole family.

for that site. looks brilliant. one question, who are the owners of the property? is the adjoining house lived in by Muslims? Don't matter if they are not but saw something on the site which led me to believe they were..........
how far is it away from the beach?
a mini review of your experience would be much welcomed, please.

Wales is a nice holiday if the weathers right. Llandudno is the place to go. A hotel overlooking the beach and you can't go wrong for a lazy weekend away. You'd be bored if you stayed for as long as a week though. Especially so if you had teenage children. Its what they'd call an 'elderly people's holiday'.

Wales is a good place to go, family spots are very reserved and the people are polite, they don't stare at us women in niqab, maybe u could try a caravan holiday in a resort area, all facilities are provided so u can take pre packed food from home so no issue on halal food, take meat from home n u can also do a barbecue, landudno is defo worth the visit , or maybe u cud hire a cottage out in Cornwall and travel up to lands end, very scenic to ponder over Allahs manifestation.
In the UK, there are plenty of places to visit but would like to know mainly about the accomodation. Where in Llandudno did you stay? If you stayed in a hotel, how did the 'halal' in the food side work out?
That link posted by muztik looks pretty good, with privacy in accomodation but enough to do outdoors too. Anyone here been to cornwall? If so,where did you stay? cottage?
any caravan resorts you guys would recommend? Preferably not too far from the North West. Keen on Scotland but again, looking for some 'reviews' from people of where they went, accomodation etc before I venture out as going places blindly with family is not my idea of fun.

The owners of the property are a Muslim couple, they live in the adjoining property. Once they showed us the place, how things work, gave keys etc they left us to it and we would come and go freely. Most of the beaches were within 35 mins drive, the 2 we went to were Amroth and Newgale Sands. They were both quiet (it was during term time) so we found a nice spot and just did our own thing, while the kids were playing. The people in Wales in general are very friendly and you dont get stares for having a sunnah beard and if you wear hijab and abayyah.
There are several places to visit with the kids and Folly farm I can highly recommend, we went there twice and our 2 and half year old loved it. We went to the dinosaur park which was fun for us all too, but in my opinon is too overhyped for what it is. There is a little chocolate farm nearby which is something different to try.
Because our two boys are small and we are restricted with the pushchair, we didnt many any walks/ trails but the surroundings seem fantastic for that.
I wanted to do the horse riding and archery but never got the chance during our time there so i cant comment on that.
The cottage itself is very nice, clean and has everything you can think of. The kitchen utensils and equipment are very clean, if not new, and it was like being at home for us. On our arrival there was already a small carton of milk in the fridge and they have a few complimentary tea, hot chocolate and sugar satchets that can be utilised before going shopping for all your stuff.
Overall I think the week was a bit long and drawn out for us, but simply because we have younger kids and werent able visit some of the theme parks or attractions as they were too small for them. Otherwise alhumdulillah we had a great time and break, it wasn't hugely expensive but I think we were fortunate the weather was kind for us. There are some comments left by guests on their own site. I hope this helps.
Wasalam Alaykum
Muztik,for the very informative review!!
places like that should be promoted more,as first its run by Muslims and secondly it fulfills lots of criteria which practising families look for, meaning privacy etc. Ive sent a query off to them anyway with regards to something. Hopefully will be planning a weekend break away inshallah.
Anyone know of any other similar places around the UK? A place like that in scotland would be brilliant. If others can chip in with their reviews of places they have been to,along with any links of places etc would be most welcome. Not looking for random places but actual places where people ahve been to themselves, accomodation they have stayed in etc along with the pro's and cons would be very very useful.
