Aqeeda

Assalamu Alaikum.


Can someone please explain to me what the differences between the following groups Aqeeda is?

• Athari
• Maturidi
• Ash'ari
• Deobandi

I'm confused as to what they actually are. Are they similar to Madhabs? Can you follow one of them and follow a Madhab? Do they have different Aqeeda? Please try to give an in depth description of each of them if possible inshAllah.

Ashari's & Maturidi's are basically what you can call normative Islam they respresent the Creed of the majority of the Muslims community from al Azhar in Egypt to Darul Uloom Deoband and beyond (North Africa,Turkey) are Ashari and Maturidi now the Athari Creed is basically the Creed of Imam Tahawi who is also greatly revered by the Asharis and Maturidis i think the differences between the three are minor and more a different way of explaining the same thing then real striking differences Deoband is an institute in India (with branches in Pakistan if i am correct) and they adhere mainly to the Maturidi school.
