Kudu is not okay.
Tazaj is ok, it is owned by fakieh farms. They are local chicken.
Don't know of any other outlets sorry, but NEVER EVER eat at those Pakistani Restaurants who say ASLI PAKISTANI HOTEL, BEWARE OF FAKES.
They are introducing machines to cut the local chicken. Some local brands have started using machine slaughter.

Kudu is not OK?
I went there three years ago and the worker said that the Chicken was Watani!
I hope that was the case back then.
Anyone else with any info?
btw Jzk for the info.

They use Hand-slaughter. This is confirmed.
You are free to visit their plant in Aziziyyah between 8am and 4pm without prior arrangement and view the process yourself.
Here is the Watania Chicken website, the link at the bottom of the page is to a short clip showing the manual slaughtering.
Here are the conditions for slaughter from the website:
Halal Slaughtering Conditions:
The following steps and conditions are forming the Islamic technique of slaughtering of an animal, as so specified by the majority of Islamic prominent scholars:-
1- The individual forming the act of slaughtering of an animal shall be required to meet certain religious prerequisites.
2- Prior to cutting off the animal throat, the name of God shall be pronounced.
3- Throat cutting off shall be made by a very sharp knife.
4- The act of cutting shall include the throat, esophagus, and both neck vessels.
5- A slaughtering officer; overseeing the application of the religious controls in the slaughtering process, shall be present at the slaughtering place.
Sahabah رضي الله عنهم would cling fast to the Sunnah, on account of it being Sunnah, while we discard the Sunnah, on account of it being (just) Sunnah!

^JazakAllah khair for the clarification.
Is it required to say Bismillahi Allahu Akbar on every chicken? Or is it sufficient if he says it once?
The man has to slaughter 100s of chickens within limited time. A minute's delay would send a few chicken alive to the processing stage.
Al-BAik itself says it imports chicken from Brazil.

Assalam o alayekum,
The issue is really serious
Now I am sure that there is problem in slaughter....... I discuss it with restaurant management in Makkah Mukaramah & Madina Tayyibah and they accept it that the meet provided by government is Full of Doubt.
In Makkah Mukarramah Matam Zamzam at Kubri & Matam Sahar at Saptco Saptco Stop have their own slaughter and they own arrange their Halal Meat , know this year Alamgir and other Trainers for Hajj in Karachi clearly restrict peple that they never eat meat from Restaurants there.
The dark side is there is NO Halal Meat available in Madinah Tayyibah. The Owner of Islamabad Hotel clearly told me that here is no Halal meat available.
I personally eat Fish and vegetable and Lenten (Daal) I personally avoid that and really feel the joy of Ibadah by doing it.
In this regard Ulma-e-Karam advice us to bring food in foil packing and boil before use.
I suggest all of my brothers that pls concern with Ulame-e-Karam in this regards and also update others and pray for betterment.
Regards,

Is there a way of definitively ascertaining whether an outlet selling meat in the Holy Cities is halal or haraam? For example, do they have a HMC equivalent, which one can look up on their trusty iphone, blackberry etc?
